I love to see how training intensities relate. This is a theoretical lactate curve with training intensities placed on it as a way to give kids awareness of where different types of workouts fall in regard to common races paces. As the end of the season comes near, get more pace-specific, but don't stray too far away from the basics.
@HeroEnlightened "Anaerobic" is just the term I used to describe those race paces. There's always an anaerobic component to some extent.

It is easy to see that "active recovery" is not going to produce a faster rate of post-workout recovery when we have a clearly described physiological model of fatigue. The active recovery workout will only ever add more fatigue on top of the pre-existing fatigue.

Conditions not ideal for a workout? Here are three workouts I always have in my bag. ✅10-15x (1:1) @ threshold effort ✅Hills (30-90s) @ 5k-mile effort ✅ Progressive Tempo Run Use them separately or mix them together.
