@stew_loren Since tests are often really huge % of the changes, I don't spend time on reading them, I ask AI to summarise them & check the coverage. When I review the logic part, and ensure it's OK, then agent can ensure it's tested properly. I also AI-review my review before publishing 😅.

@stew_loren Yeah, it's different technically, but - at least for me - is really similar process-wise. I use AI to implement, but also to (self-)review on top of my own investigation. At this point I don't try to read and understand every line, I rather want to understand the intent.

@nicksdot You can't pin the deps. When you install PHP version in ASDF, it's built from sources, then when you install extensions these are also built using libs that exist in your PATH. When those libs are updated system-wide, those extensions stop working and have to be reinstalled.

Is it only me, or the need to explicitly run `brew update` before `brew upgrade ...` is an awful DX? For example, I work with `gh` tool and I see there's a new version of it, so I run Brew upgrade, and I end up with the same version... only to call update and upgrade again 🙄.

@nicksdot Well, it depends what is your tooling behind Brew and local setup in general. In my case there were issues with #asdf and PHP runtimes that had Imagick extension installed. With Brew auto-upgrades it often resulted in the broken lib references in already built extensions.

@nicksdot Of course I have it in my zshrc, already forgot about it 🙈. If I remember correctly, it prevented accidental updates of dozens of packages when the intent was to upgrade single one, as it can cause issues in current setup/runtimes... So either way it has unwanted behaviour 😕.

@sqs Yes. Well, probably not in the same way as before, but still. I like doing reviews, because it's a best way to be up-to-date with changes, and also because human intuition can't be implemented in AI. I discuss PR changes with AI, and I find things that agentic reviews don't.
