@nizzyabi email is fine. It supports file attachments, encryption, is easy to understand and use. buts its heavily underutilized by most though. -> Register a custom domain, use a catchall for having an endless amount of addresses and self host.
@ReedReeder @itsfoss Paying for major versions would be a subscription for functionality and even worse compared to a premium model that unlocks community prestige, support and similar stuff but keeps the product itself free.
@itsfoss If users would be willing to pay small amounts for great software that is built and published for free, a project with a big userbase like hyprland wouldnt need to introduce any of this.
@MountainMan246 @itsfoss yeah, drives me nuts. some people seem to prefer to see projects being unmaintained instead of them having an underlying, non-instrusive business model that keeps them going. wtf.
@VargaTrance @itsfoss this! it pretty much depends only on what is removed from the free tier. I dont think it would be healthy for this project in particular to risk non paying user missing functionality.

@privacy11_ Seems legit to go a little bit beyond just hoping for donations. Providing some benefits to donators is OK for me. But if he goes too hard on monetization, this project is not going anywhere long term imo.

I used TickTick. Before that, Notion. Before that Todoist. I read GTD by David Allen back in 2012 and used ThinkingRock for years. But I always kept coming back to todo.txt. Every tool felt like a compromise. @taskwarrior is simple but doesn't lack anything. It just works.
You can use TaskVanguard just like Taskwarrior: vanguard add "create personal blog" It will: – Break the task into subtasks – Add annotations – Auto-assign project and tags
