The @framer team just dropped a report on the state of websites in 2026 and one of the key takeaways was that: "Designers and marketers want more craft on their sites - scroll animations, radical simplicity, retro aesthetics, interactive storytelling..." For me this is a further proof that while AI is making some things in production faster, the overall need and desire for storytelling, recognisable aesthetics and interaction has just been going up. It's easier than ever to do things, but so much harder to stand out and make something memorable.
