@ozfromcorgi Yeah, those numbers are rough 😅 If you’re doing serious volume, I’d look for a tool with solid deliverability, reliable inbox infrastructure, and flexible sending limits.
@MitchellKeller_ Yep! Not every client is worth the headache. As a cold email operator, protecting your time and energy matters just as much as landing the next deal. There are plenty of ways to monetize the skill without getting stuck in bad client relationships.
“Self-healing inboxes” is one of the dumbest phrases in cold email infrastructure. It suggests that a damaged inbox somehow repairs itself while your campaign continues running. That is not what happens.
There is not even a universally accepted definition of a burned inbox.
Ask five people in cold email how they identify one and you may get six answers.
Some look at bounce rates.
Some use placement tests.
Some watch reply rates.
Some blame the domain.
Some blame the individual inbox.
Some shut everything down the moment performance moves in the wrong direction.
The responsible process is less exciting:
[WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS]
1. Monitor the available signals.
2. Look for a meaningful performance change.
3. Check the campaign, list, copy, domain, and inbox before assigning blame.
4. Pause sending when the evidence justifies it.
5. Repair, rotate, or replace the affected infrastructure.
6. Test it again before restoring volume.
Software can automate parts of that process. It can alert you, pause accounts, move volume, or initiate replacements.
It cannot magically heal reputation.
The cold email industry keeps inventing language that makes ordinary operational work sound proprietary. Buyers end up purchasing a phrase without understanding what the product actually does.
If a provider promises “self-healing,” ask them one question:
What exactly gets healed?
Cold email follow-ups are usually worse than the first email. The sender already used their best idea, so every message afterward becomes a longer and more desperate version of “just checking in.” There is a better way to build the sequence.
The first email should sell curiosity.
It needs one relevant problem, one credible outcome, and one easy next step.
The second email should add information.
Use a different proof point, explain the mechanism, or address the objection that probably stopped the prospect from replying.
The third email should reduce the amount of effort required to answer.
Sometimes the best-performing follow-up is embarrassingly simple:
“Ben?”
People laugh at that until it outperforms the paragraph they spent an hour writing.
There is no universal line that works for every market. The lesson is that follow-ups do not need to repeat the entire pitch.
They need to create a new reason to respond.
Try different approaches:
• New proof
• Different problem
• Relevant customer example
• Direct question
• Short pattern interrupt
Then let the replies decide.
The market does not care which email your copywriter thought was clever. It cares which one made the prospect answer.
@slatesource especially when they spent half an hour trying to make "I hope this email finds you well" sound like it was written by an actual human being.
We launched Cheap Sequencer just over a week ago and already have our first 300 users. The launch offer was $1, so I expected people to sign up. I did not expect the first few hundred to arrive this quickly.
The idea behind the product is simple:
Sequencers have become bloated.
A lot of teams need to connect inboxes, upload leads, write a sequence, control sending, and handle replies.
They do not need another expensive platform with 70 features hidden across six menus.
[WHAT USERS ACTUALLY NEED]
• Simple campaign creation
• Clear inbox controls
• Predictable sending
• Easy lead management
• Useful reporting
• A clean place to handle replies
That is most of the job.
The incumbents keep adding features because new features make better release announcements. Simplicity is harder to market because “we removed unnecessary shit” does not sound innovative.
But that is exactly what many outbound teams want.
Cheap Sequencer is still early. There will be problems, missing features, and things we need to improve.
The first 300 users give us something far more valuable than another six months of building privately: real behavior from people trying to use the product for actual campaigns.
@himarkyi Maybe the job market isn’t the only problem. 😅
If you’ve never tried cold emailing, networking, reaching out directly, or creating your own opportunities, you’re only playing the job board game.
@adamc0dez 100%. 😂 If your AI is writing compliments like “I was incredibly impressed by your innovative journey…”, just delete the whole email.
Keep it short. Solve a real problem. Ask for a reply.
@kadenc4_s Facts. 😂 A Calendly link in the first email is basically:
“Hey, we’ve never met. Wanna give me 30 minutes of your life?” 💀
Earn the reply first. The calendar can come later.
@wildeehq72 I’d cut: “I wanted to reach out because…” 😂
Nobody asked for the origin story. Get to their problem, why it matters, and what you can do about it.
Cold email isn’t a biography ,it’s a problem-solving pitch. 🎯📩
@b_haven59 100%. 😂 You can have the best copy in the world, but if the list is trash, you’re just automating spam at scale.
Verify the leads, protect the inboxes, then worry about the copy. 📩🔥
