In fact, you'll find in the Fablous proposal "Blockchain Height Abstraction" a new "ticks" system is introduced so BCH is forward-compatible with future blocktime changes. gitlab.com/0353F40E/fablo… Faster (& slower) than 1 minute blocks are thus already supported with a future 1 line code change, in the case that technology improving (or degrading, say in the unlikely case of serious civilisation collapse) makes it feasible & low-risk to once again lower (or necessary to raise) the blocktime. So we're preparing now already for that next step. Also note that "Sunlight", the proposal for mining share broadcast & consensus weighting, is somewhat equivalent to going to "1 second blocks" using the same principle, see: bitcoincashresearch.org/t/sunlight-con…. We welcome NZ First announcing near-identical policy to ACT's to abolish the Waitangi Tribunal. Their proposal to abolish the Tribunal and set up a new Commission to finish the historical settlements is slightly more complicated than ACT's policy. Our plan is to take away all the Tribunal's powers except for finishing the historical settlements before it automatically expires under our amended law. But, details aside, it's good news to see another Party in the Coalition wanting it gone one way or another. The Tribunal has outlived its usefulness. It is undemocratic to have unelected people pronouncing what the elected Government should and shouldn't be able to do. It has become a source of division rather than the reconciliation and unity it was intended to create.

I’m happy to see $BCH pump 30%+ today, likely driven in part by anticipation of greater institutional interest, including Grayscale’s BCH ETF push and CME BCH futures. But price appreciation alone isn’t enough. For this momentum to be sustainable, we need to keep strengthening the fundamentals—especially real-world BCH payments, DeFi, and businesses building actual products and services around BCH. I hope those who benefit significantly from this pump consider reinvesting some of those gains into companies and projects with a proven track record of advancing BCH adoption. As the price goes up, let’s scale the fundamentals with it.
