Super Mario Sunshine that's got some sort of open world aspect, sort of like a seamless transition between the levels and islands. Please note, this is mostly a tech concept, and demo, it's obviously a bit choppy in some areas, but man is this cool!!!

@banteg I got Super Mario Sunshine US to 70% with 365 agent hours. The last 30% is super slow. It’s like 2 % a day if I leave claude and codex on it 24/7. I’m curious if you have any special workflow you found helpful

Recently received backlash from the decompilation community for using AI in my own personal fork of Super Mario Sunshine as a hobby project, resulting in me named an “AI bro”. My interest in this project is the finished result. Coding is a means to that end, not the part of the hobby I’m here for. I respect that other people find value in manually reverse engineering the game, but I don’t have to share that motivation to pursue a project of my own. If my work results in a game binary that is 100% byte for byte exact match of the original rom, that’s the only metric that matters to me. For the record, my progress is significant. The repo I started from was 38% of the Japanese variation of the game, mine is 70% of the US version of the game, finally for clarification, I will happily merge all of my progress into the main project, but I will not let a human delay my progress because of perception.
