Shipped my first iOS app this month. I'm not a developer by trade: I did the product, the testing and the App Store side, and Claude Code wrote the code, one slice at a time. First commit to live took about seven weeks. Most of that wasn't code.

@ekibuilds Mine went live this month too, so no proven answer yet. The one thing I've kept up every day is short videos on TikTok and Instagram: real screen recordings of the app and typography, no face, posted on a schedule.

@EdenKollcinaku Mid-range and low-end devices are where most crash reports never get written. People just uninstall. Fixing those before anyone complains is the kind of update nobody thanks you for and everybody feels.

@AustinMCOS @AnthropicAI Classic check-then-act race. Checking again right before the write narrows the window but doesn't close it. If two runs can overlap, a lock or a unique key on the job id is what actually stops the duplicate.

@resettingmike Moving rest to today so Saturday doesn't break the week is the part most plans skip. Mine is 3 x 1 min dead hangs most days, and keeping it that small is why it survives the busy ones.

@DeepthiConnects The second one, and it isn't close. My first iOS app went live this month, and the build was the part I could plan. Getting anyone to see it has no checklist. You try something, watch what moves, and try the next thing.

@oyvindaa @raf_piek It stalls because most apps are private. People pass on a restaurant, not the tool they open alone every morning, so a good small app gets one recommendation and the chain ends there.

@felixycc Naming the step does more than a percentage ever does. A bar sitting at 60% looks frozen, a line that says what it is doing right now looks busy. Same wait, but people stop wondering whether to force quit.

@michaelkolkov @telegram @ChatGPT Keeping the same camera view alive instead of swapping in a snapshot is what sells it. Most morph transitions give themselves away with one frozen frame in the middle.

@azamsharp The only reason I've seen is wanting to set it from outside, usually for a preview. That is exactly what private protects you from, since State reads its initial value once. If a parent needs to drive it, it should be a Binding.

@Bagdex Agreed. The place I'd still look is anything drawn at a fixed size, like a chart or a card grid. Stock components stretch on their own, custom drawing doesn't.

Apple's foldable ships with iOS 27.1, so I searched my app for UIScreen, GeometryReader and size-class branches. None. Plain TabView, NavigationStack and List, which Apple adapts for you. The real work is building with the 27.1 SDK.

@DrKristieLeong Removing the setup is underrated. My daily routine is a few dead hangs and stomach vacuums, and it only stuck because there is nothing to prepare or skip for. Slowing the tempo is the same idea: make the easy version harder instead of waiting for better equipment.

@youneak221 Same shift here after my first app went live this month. What I settled on: short videos of the real screen doing one thing, posted on a schedule so it never depends on mood. Showing up daily matters more than any single post, which fits a routines app anyway.

@seanoneillm @mr_indian1908 Same pattern here. iPhone-only apps still get reviewed on an iPad, so anything sized to an iPhone screen breaks. Mine was a blank first screen, yours a hidden Delete Account button. Neither shows up if you only test on a phone.

@Bagdex Finding it mid-review is almost worse than a rejection. My first app got rejected twice, both for things I could have caught: a blank first screen on iPad for an iPhone-only app, and no Terms of Use link in the description.

@mecid ViewThatFits earns its place with Dynamic Type. At the largest text sizes an HStack of labels stops fitting, and it falls back to the VStack version on its own, no size-class check needed.
