We are in the final stretch of shipping my first-ever SaaS: Pro Headshot Photos (proheadshotphotos.com). After 7+ years building machine learning pipelines, computer vision models, and generative AI systems, I decided to build a complete product in public. We’re putting the finishing touches on production right now, and here is why I built it: Getting an executive portrait in 2026 is still unnecessarily painful. You book weeks ahead, take half a day off work, and drop $300 to $500 for three usable photos. When early AI portrait tools emerged, they took shortcuts. Cheap face-swapping filters flattened skin micro-textures, ruined eye reflections, and turned professionals into plastic, airbrushed toys. I wanted to engineer something that respects actual studio optics and biometric privacy. What we engineered under the hood: Dedicated Identity Calibration: No generic face-swap APIs. Every upload triggers an isolated LoRA fine-tuning session calibrated exclusively to the user's bone structure and facial likeness. 85mm Optical & Lighting Physics: Latents calibrated against physical studio key lights, softboxes, subtle rim accents, and natural skin pores. Ephemeral Biometrics: Raw selfies are treated as disposable assets. The moment model weights finish training, raw inputs are permanently purged from cloud storage. Complete Product Experience: Built from scratch in a "light luxury" editorial aesthetic—warm porcelain canvas, elevated 3D cards, multi-user Team accounts with shared credit pools, and an interactive studio gallery with 4K ZIP exports. Our database migrations, team models, and light editorial redesign are verified. We’re wrapping up the final payment flow and generation queues before opening the doors publicly.
