Editable has a minimalist single-user architecture, so adding an MCP would require some sort of multi-user realtime collab functionality. With computer use there's still just one user clicking/changing things, so nothing to complicate. :)
Just tried Codex Computer Use to make edits on an editable.website and it works surprisingly well. I told it to "enable edit mode and go find grammar and spelling mistakes on the current page. Highlight first error and suggest what you'd like to change."
@thorstenball In any way, it’s a balancing act, and I think there’s more nuance to it as is reflected in your post. Which has great points, but missing balance and space for other views/outomes.
@thorstenball I think the best of them aren’t in it for the money, but in pursuit of making the best shoes. In pursuit of making the best software, I’m still conflicted about when AI makes it better vs. when it just makes it “faster” and “more”.
Why can’t Italian shoemaker go for an evening run in their Nikes? Why can’t engineer spend their morning in solitude with offline text editor cracking a hard problem, and take AI for a spin in the afternoon to build experiments on top of it?
Most predictions I see are still way too conservative. Here's mine

Selection rectangle is CSS anchor-positioned. Focal point (crosshair) is relative positioned inside it. Scrolling the wrapping container moves the rectangle correctly but the focal point is doing silly things. Scratching my head... Safari anchor positioning bug?
@theandreboso Same for testing the UX of an app! I usually give them a few simple tasks and then ask them to record their screen and themselves while they are completing them. In person works too, but you really need to be disciplined to stay silent, while you see them struggle. :)
