@paulg Yeah, because those transitions signal the logical relationship between sentences. That logic is apparent to writers but opaque to readers unless it’s spelled out explicitly. For a good example of effective transitions, see Orwell’s Politics & the English Language

It becomes a lot easier to see when you substitute the word 'ai' for 'parrot'. > How can parrots be so great at whistling but so bad at writing? Like parrots, AI lacks the only thing that converts sounds into language: intention. When you have something to say, and you orient yourself properly to the reader and to the world, the language choices that amount to style follow. But that style absent its upstream intention and orientation will always fail as language.
Only skill that matters in business is writing. Everything is downstream. Writing is the root. The people that takeover in the next era will be all excellent writers Each day, I write 15-20 pages. Either content scripts, trainings, YouTube videos, etc. The clarity loop that comes from distilling your thoughts is the most valuable thing to spend time on. If you want to get better at writing, you need to start creating content (that is longer-form and requires articulating your thoughts)
