Hard Tech Headlines: - @DARPA has selected @IonQ_Inc to produce 125 atomic clocks, critical for radar, secure communications, and precision geolocation. - @oklo, the American nuclear company, has achieved criticality at its test reactor in Lockhart, Texas. - @TryOpenX has announced that its COLABs, forward-deployable manufacturing and upskilling facilities, are operating across the United States, Guam, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Germany, and the Middle East. The facilities have also been tested in operational environments with U.S. Central Command. - @HadrianInc has secured a $1.37 billion Series D to scale its Factory-as-a-Service model. - 1872 has secured a $15M seed round. The Cincinnati, Ohio-based startup is building an automated steel fabrication factory. - @atlasmotion has launched out of stealth. The Los Angeles startup develops motion systems for drones, robots, and broader autonomous systems, which are critical to the physical movement of robotic platforms. The startup is developing automated data-labeling and failure-detection tools for robotics. - Mitti Labs, the Indian startup, has secured a $9.5 million Series A led by Aramco Ventures. The startup uses satellite imagery, radar data, AI and physical models to track rice-field health and optimize irrigation in India, with plans to expand into the Philippines and Indonesia. - Aktoria Robotics has launched out of YC. The startup provides 24/7 remote operators for robotics companies. - @Overland_AI_X, the Seattle-based ground autonomy startup, has deployed its autonomous ground vehicle in the woods alongside drones from @ag3labs for mobile launches.

America has roughly 12M manufacturing workers. China has 100M+. Yet the U.S. produces vastly more value per worker. We build more valuable, more sophisticated products with a far more productive workforce. That’s always been our edge. Talent is the real bottleneck. Factories don’t scale without people who know how to build. The old gov. or institutional grant model (train a few thousand over years, hope for placement) is too slow. People like @codyaims and the Skill Factory team are building the right playbook: scalable, project-based, direct placement into high-leverage roles. WITH SPEED. Real throughput. We should go even bigger. We have elite pipelines for technologists at places like Stanford - why not a dedicated program for the next generation of industrialists and builders who turn ideas into physical reality at scale?

Breaking: Open X (@TryOpenX) says its COLAB forward-deployable manufacturing lab is now supporting live combat deployments, with dozens of units fielded across six countries. COLAB is a containerized lab built to bring upskilling, repair, and fabrication closer to the edge. The system has also been fielded with Special Operations Forces and Marine Forces Special Operations Command. Separately, two research and development COLAB units deployed to Operation Epic Fury.
