The best-rated hotel isn’t always the one that appears on AI platforms. Our research found that hotels with a 4.0 to 4.4 rating were mentioned the most, while hotels ranked 4.8 or above were mentioned ~10% less often. Why do you think that is? Let’s discuss in the comments. #AInews #AIanalysis #AIplatforms #GEO

Hotels ranking higher on AI platforms all share one secret: Google reviews. Our research showed that hotels with 2,500+ Google reviews have an ~80% citation rate across Google Maps, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI mode. Earning AI visibility comes down to earning credibility with the specific sources AI already trusts in a given market. That's a PR skill, applied to a newer kind of outcome.

Local brands can build community ties in a way that's harder for national brands to replicate. A genuine partnership with a local cause tends to earn coverage from the same hyperlocal outlets AI systems often reference in local answers.

Original local research is a strong way for multi-location brands to earn press. A regional study gives journalists a ready-made story and gives AI a credible, location-specific source to associate with the brand.

One way to make PR outreach more targeted: check what publications AI is already citing for your category and location, then focus outreach there. That gives you a specific list instead of a general one.

“I Googled it and saw us ranking #1” doesn’t tell the whole story. Local rankings can change based on where you’re searching from, personalization, history, and timing. That’s why grid rank tracking matters. Appreciate the mention, @JoyanneHawkins 📷

Few things frustrate clients more than learning that their own habits and location affect how their business shows up in Google, and it comes up with us again and again. Your location, past searches, personalization settings, and even the hour of the day can reshape the results

Step 6: Dig into individual responses. Open specific answers where your business appears. Look beyond your own site, too. Directories, review sites, and local coverage all shape how AI describes you.

AI is already answering questions about businesses like yours. Every answer cites a source. Most people have never checked what that source is, or whether it's them. Here's exactly how to track it, step by step:

Sorry about that. If you send us your IP address via our live chat (the block page should have the chat available) even though primary team is not at their desk working over the weekend, someone will pick it up and get this resolved for you. If, for some reason, that's also blocked then please email us: account [at] localfalcon.com

Everyone is trying to get more AI Overviews rankings. Fewer people are asking a simpler question: which sources is AI actually citing for my industry right now? What's your best guess for your own business?

A prospect asks AI about businesses like yours. AI answers using sources it already trusts. If your site isn't one of them, you're invisible in that answer, no matter how good your SEO is. Tracking those sources is step one to fixing it.
