@benjamincowen One bad day and Ben is back to being a bear. Just admit you were always a bear and were just trying to save face when Bitcoin ripped.
From my understanding, the annualized return on what you deploy is about 10%. At 267 BTC in your treasury, buying just 30 BTC ($2.5 million USD) would achieve the same goal. With a smaller stack, using moving strike warrants (don't steal like Simon) and fixed-income and derivative systems would be more beneficial. In a bull BTC market, any DAT that did things by the playbook and were transparent with their shareholders will get a premium ($MSTR, $ASST, and $SWC have already achieved this). Metaplanet disrespected it's shareholders and the mNAV reflects that. I understand $LQWD's apprehension when it comes to the mNAV premium, because while you were trying to accumulate BTC and become a DAT, you did not achieve the premium you felt that you deserved. However, a huge reason for that was the way in which you went about the accumulation. While the likes of $SWC were doing steady, weekly buys, $LQWD's buys seemed random in comparsion. As such, investors didn't have as much confidence, which in turn, led to a lower mNAV premium. I believe the Liquid Network is the way to go after you accumulate over 10,000 BTC (in conjunction with preferred shares). However, the best move right now, before the next BTC bull market gets into full swing, is to transform into a DAT once again, but please follow the playbook properly this time.
They didn't need to be a 20M USD market cap company. You are acting like someone forced them to make the terrible decision of focusing on the Lightning Network. $ASST is a 2.85B market cap company, who entered this sector well after $LQWD. No excuse for management's poor decision making. But sure, we can revisit in a year.
$MSTR has outperformed $LQWD year-to-date in 2026 and has also outperformed since January 1, 2025. $LQWD should have just takeb the DAT route and did what $ASST did. Sweaty CEO thought he knew better, but he obviously didn't. Instead of being a Homer for this garbage stock, please tell me what I don't understand that you clearly do (apart from how to lose money on $LQWD).
@BigpictureBTC To make matters worse, they pretended they were all for the DAT playbook, and simply lied to investors. I hope that sweaty CEO and his company go bankrupt.
@BigpictureBTC Pretty sure $MSTR is doing better than $LQWD who bet on the Lightning Networks like dummies instead of trying to become a DAT. They had a head start on $ASST. That's what they could've been instead of the nonsense they represent today

Let's see what the future holds for them. There are a ton of releases set for September. It will be interesting to see where the rankings stand a month from today.

@marwood_lennox For those wondering: the one not like the others is Avatar. The rest were cultural phenomena with quotable lines and memorable characters. However, Avatar being on the list is likely explained by total sales being buoyed by multiple re-releases and the 3D ticket cost premium.
