Most North American, Japanese, European and Korean automakers lack properly done electric vehicles with modern electrical and mechanical architectures. They are building compliance or transition vehicles, that use platforms, parts, and manufacturing processes, they already have to make fossil fuel burners, from a pre digital era. This makes them more costly and less capable. Criteria: (just a start, automakers need to meet all these items not just some) 1) Zonal architecture, with automotive ethernet, for vehicle wide capability to do over the air updates. Not old school domain based and CAN bus. Who does this? Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, and most Chinese EV companies. Tesla has been doing it since 2017. Other companies are trying to sell you the equivalent of a blackberry cell phone in the days of Apple and android. Some are even trying to sell you a Nokia or Motorola phone. 2) Dedicated electric vehicle platform, not a modified gas and hybrid platform, that they managed to cram some batteries in to. Speaking of batteries, no pouch cells. Prismatic and cylindrical is what you want in a modern vehicle, it’s a matter of safety. 3) Modern manufacturing methods, like Giga castings, that reduce cost, while improving safety and vehicle performance. NVH (noise vibration and harshness) are significantly reduced. 4) ADAS, advanced driver assistance systems. In some cases, these allow the vehicle to drive point to point without you ever touching the pedal or the steering wheel, in a way that can be several times safer than a human driver alone. It is time for a simple rewrite of the rules: We need to index the votes of index fund investors. Passive index funds should be forced to automatically split their votes to proportionately mirror those of retail and active institutional shareholders — the people actually doing the research, risking their capital, and fighting for performance in the companies they hold shares in. No more rubber-stamping. A change like this will immediately strip corrupt gatekeepers like ISS of their toxic influence. True accountability happens when lazy, overpaid boards actually answer to the stakeholders they represent, rather than screwing them over. Actual, logic-driven governance when your money is passive happens when your vote passively follows the voting decisions of the actual market. We need to stop letting passive capital protect active incompetence. By stripping index funds of their arbitrary voting power and empowering engaged investors, we will finally torch corporate cronyism and usher American capital markets into a golden age of capitalism.

Everyone posts the same Bill Clinton clip from Camp David in 2000, and I understand why. It is a clean story and it is easy to share. But then the replies start. “You cannot trust Clinton”. “He is American. He is pro-Israel”. “That is not the full picture”. Well then here is Hosni Mubarak, the former president of Egypt, sitting in Cairo and talking about something most people on here have never even heard of. The Mena House conference in 1977. Years before Clinton, and years before the 2000 summit everyone argues about. He says they held a conference there and the Palestinians refused to participate. It wasn’t some complicated diplomatic disagreement. They simply would not even come. He says that every time there was an opportunity they wasted it, and that if they had taken the document that was already on the table and actually negotiated over it, the region would not be in the disaster it is in now. That document, in his account, included the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the West Bank and Gaza. The argument was not even whether Israel would leave. The argument was who would control security during the transitional period. Jordanian and Palestinian forces? Israeli and Palestinian forces? Other Arab forces? He says the Israelis did not mind negotiating those points. Egypt signed a peace agreement and was insulted for it. Then he says the line that should bother people more than any American speech. For fifty years they repeatedly said NO. They said NO After 1948. They said NO After 1967. He says they will keep saying no until there is nothing left to bargain over. This is not an Israeli spokesman and it is not the White House. This is an Egyptian president telling you the walkout did not begin in 2000. It was already a habit long before that.
