I spoke with Professor Doug Brugge on Causes or Cures about the evidence on air filtration and brain and cardiovascular health. We talk about what to look for in an air purifier, how to know whether its appropriately sized for your room, and how to build an effective lower-cost, DIY version since they can be pricey $$$. He says they're easy to build. I'll try it, Youtube it, and see...and if I can do it, anyone can.

In this episode of Public Health is Weird… In 1904, Germany opened a “forest school” for children considered sickly or at risk of illnesses like tuberculosis. The idea spread. Children learned outdoors, classrooms kept windows open year-round, and fresh air and sunlight became part of the public health strategy. More than 120 years later, we’re still talking about ventilation, indoor air quality, and how to make schools healthier. Personally, I’d bring back forest schools. 🌲🌲🌲🌲 But to be fair, I also wouldn’t mind going into a forest and never coming out 😂🤷‍♀️😉
