The 30yr fixed rate mortgage is the most incredible financial product accessible to everyday people. The ability to leverage a house early on while continually investing in the market will take you way farther than waiting to invest until you’re 40. Academically that’s true and I’d argue in practice as well. Most people don’t have the discipline to invest their mortgage pmt into the market after paying off their house. By 40 you’ll have lifestyle creep, kids, bills/taxes and expenses you can’t even fathom at 25-30.

@SparkingFIRENC Agreed. Took the family to a water park last week. Saw two kids (probably 4-5 yrs old) sitting in their covered jeep stroller glued to an iPad. Tried to give the benefit of the doubt and assumed they were taking a lunch break. Nope… 2 hrs later same thing. Borderline child abuse

@NetWorthNotes Take a year and just read books and explore. Read classics, adventure novels, history, biographies. Plan a road trip with friends, go somewhere by yourself for a week. It will feel like a risk when all your friends are graduating, getting jobs, moving into their own apartments.
