@sneedcola @NilesSankey @gr8_rebellion I'm yet to find the perfect formula too but based on the data from my game, this kind of money would result in a couple thousand wishlists if invested in Reddit ads for example. (Provided that the game is actually marketable)

My 2 cents about indie paid promo. It's definitely ok to sell something that can return a proportionate value to the dev. It's NOT ok to sell overpriced dreams and empty promises that won't convert in any way. You KNOW which one you are. @IndieGameJoe, @paulavaynshteyn, thoughts?

@Lockie_Glizzy My POV as a developer is that it's ok to pay for a spotlights if the price is actually proportionate to the expected ROI in any way. I was recently offered an X post, trailer and a mention on news site for 12€. Even if it doesn't convert it's how much I can easily risk. Not $300

@OverBoredGaming I honestly think "2B's Ass" should become an idiom term like "Chekhov's gun". It's an element necessary to draw people attention to a game which is deep and life changing under the surface. However... it wouldn't get enough spotlight for people to appreciate it without her ass.

@bigbropatchwork I also liked how smart Nier Automata solved this by having weapons intentionally floating behind characters backs and being teleported without any holster animations. Saves so much anim time and headache :D I legit thought the effect was intentional here ^^

@madchaosstudio Thanks! The Light is a resource through the whole game just as food and water but you get some buffs and items that boost it duration. This way you can eventually worry about it less during exploration and use it more to block attacks in combat.
