Tired of seeing the same lame stock photos of clearly healthy actors draping the back of their hands over their foreheads to represent ME? @tink_ina and I feel the same way. That's why we're starting a photo gallery showcasing very severe patients that will be promoted to journalists and relevant organizations for use in articles and media. We need your submissions to help curate the highest quality and most representative photos for this project. If you have photos of yourself or someone you take care of, please submit them: lcmedata.org/severephotos

@JuoPosts 🫂🫂 hope you feel better soon!

Long overdue and life changing please Toronto cc people share this!!!!

@somethings_awry We all need a break sometimes. This place is not the greatest for mental health. Take care of yourself, and hope you will be back when you're ready 🫂

ADHD people are literally cognitive raccoons. Curious about everything, collecting random facts like contraband, solving problems nobody asked us to solve, and somehow forgetting why we walked into the room.

Boomers are completely incapable of comprehending that working from home does in fact mean WORKING from home. My mom is constantly calling me at 2:30 pm and is dumbfounded when I have to explain to her each time that I can’t just take a call in the middle of the work day

Small, but replicable study: SARS-CoV2 detected in the throat/mouth first.

In 88% of participants, virus appeared in the nose at least a day later than in the mouth or throat - 2.3 d later on average. The nose isn't the first doorway, as was long assumed. It's more like where the infection spreads to.

It’s widely known SARS2 can reactivate latent viruses, including mono/EBV, HSV (1 or 2) and HHV. If this is your history & you are eating a lot of nuts for healthy protein and fats, make sure you are also eating foods high in lysine. Otherwise you’re feeding the viruses …

@mimizima_ This is terrible, living safely is so fucking lonely now 💔 I really hope you don't get any worsening from this!

@Raheem6009 Oh and yes, I sip electrolytes all day in water and wear compression socks 🙂

@Raheem6009 It's hard to get to 100% when I'm putting in 15-20k steps, day after day. I still end up in pain and I know this pain was not normal for me before all this.

People without chronic fatigue don't get it and never will. There is no point in trying to explain anything anymore.

Neurocognitive Indices of Long COVID: Dysregulated Engagement of Inhibitory Control and Oscillatory Slowing 🚨Even after mild COVID, LongC0VID can leave a measurable brain signature. Interesting small USA study that needs your attention: ➡️~6 months later, young, otherwise healthy adults with PASC reported more brain fog, anxiety, depression and sleep problems, ➡️On an inhibitory Go/NoGo task their performance looked intact, but EEG did not, ➡️Neural indices showed altered cognitive-control engagement on both correct and error trials, less efficient responding, and a trend toward dysregulated co-oscillatory synchrony during errors, ➡️Altered neural indices of inhibitory control marginally correlated with spontaneous oscillatory slowing, potentially suggesting shared basic mechanisms, ➡️“The overall pattern of PASC symptoms, altered neural activity during inhibitory control, and oscillatory slowing, is indicative of the core neural dysfunction characterizing PASC”. ‼️So, LongC0VID here is not symptoms without a signal. It is a core neural dysfunction that behavioral tests miss and EEG detects. ‼️In layman terms: After even a mild COVID infection, some people keep the fog, the bad sleep, and the low mood. Everyday tests may say nothing is wrong. The brain however can be working less efficiently, especially when it has to stop itself, stay on task, or recover from a mistake, and to be honest, I'm seeing a lot of this around me! #AvoidSars2 #AvoidReinfections mdpi.com/2673-4087/7/5/… mdpi.com/2673-4087/7/5/…

When I just had hEDS & PoTS I couldn’t relate to experiences in support grps where people were severely disabled by them. I exercised, was strong & active. Then I got severe ME overnight. I’m now bedbound in pain with no way to exercise myself better. Be humble not superior.

when i got my POTS diagnosis my neurologist told me that i should absolutely not get involved with online communities for it bc most of the people there were obsessed with being sick forever. and at the time i was like wow that’s fucked up huh but actually she was 1000% correct

I’m trying to avoid the POTS discussion but I’ll add there are two main kinds: with and without PEM. I had POTS before Covid and benefited from exercise. The more I walked or swam, the better control I had over tachycardia Now, with ME/PEM, it’s the opposite. 1/

I am rarely affected by discourse on this platform, but the current wave of posts asserting that Long Covid is psychosomatic has angered me. To be very clear: if you're asserting that LC isn't a physical disease, you're ignorant of science. End of.

@worldofcrap Engineered to be addicting 😬

@FullLaneFemme Cool! I'll see if I can find it and boost too!

The mice just wanted to identify as sick so they could feel special.
