Last weekend, Mary Peltola and Sen. Dan Sullivan squared off at the Kodiak fisheries debate, and Sullivan gave us a masterclass in "I wasn't listening, but I don't want anyone to know that." The question: does the North Pacific Fishery Management Council actually listen to subsistence users, salmon migration, habitat, and Indigenous ways of life? Peltola put up her red "no" paddle immediately. 🚫 But Sullivan had no answer. When Sullivan finally clocked that everyone was waiting for an answer, he snuck a peek at Mary’s response and raised his own “no” paddle. In other words: Alaskans deserve a senator who doesn't need to copy the answer.

This past weekend, Swing Left volunteers came by bus and car to take action with Ground Truth and have deep, substantive conversations with voters, regardless of their party affiliation, to hear what’s actually on their minds. These volunteers are finding voters that traditional Democratic field programs miss, including voters that could swing to vote for Democrats and help us beat Republicans in critical races. Across two days, canvassers knocked on 3303 doors in our target swing districts and states. That’s 10% more doors and 28% more canvassers compared to last month’s Weekend of Action!
