Here's what's interesting about why people with ADHD go quiet on texts they meant to answer days ago. Replying means confronting the guilt of not replying sooner, so avoiding the message becomes a way to avoid the feeling, not the task itself.
I described this in relation to burnout (before being diagnosed/knowing I had adhd) as 'I used to be able to force myself to do anything if I *absolutely* had to, but it comes at a cost to the soul and i ran out of soul to pay with'
The cool thing is that you actually can, for a while, until suddenly a very minor difficulty causes you to have a breakdown and you lose the ability to function as a human on any level for months or years

It's so frustrating how little people understand just how much goes into overcoming your adhd, and your reward for doing is "proving" to people that your condition isn't real
some people with ADHD cope by overcompensating and then experience burnouts that can last for years. that is you. the fall is not going to be gentle when it happens, and you will get to enjoy the same unkind lectures then you carelessly dispense today. every punch has a price.
