Book One is addition, subtraction subtraction, multiplication and division, corresponding to 1st through 4th. Books Two and Three are Fractions and Decimals & Percentages, corresponding to 5th. Book Four is Operations with Negatives, corresponding to 6th. Book Five is Basic Geometry, corresponding, roughly, to 6th and 7th. Book Six is Pre-Algebra, so 7th. Book Seven: Statistics and Probability, is 7th to 8th. Books Eight, Nine and Ten (Algebra Expressions & Equations, Beyond Basic Geometry, and Linear Equations) are all 8th, roughly. Hope that helps!
Lately there's been a lot of debate here on eduTwitter: do we need to produce millions of expert math teachers or should we just hand the classroom over to AI? @Sur_Taka Very few examples can be covered in class, due to time constraints. And most textbooks have 2 or 3 worked examples per lesson and then a lot of problems of varying levels of difficulty, many disconnected from the examples.
@LeeMcClymont If the student didn't master the concept during the lesson, they're likely to consolidate errors during unguided practice. The examples are only there for the students who need them; the rest simply complete the problems.
