this is a really good insight i mean we shouldn't dance around the fact that funding usually goes to 1) someone with a bold, clear vision and 2) ivy league signal (even if dropout) and 3) prestigious experience that translates into the vision such as hard startups or FAANG etc then the really hard technical work is done by qualified phds who do not have any of these 3 things but just a specific expertise or phd knowledge

@sciad @sigfig code optimization wise sure, syntax and knowing libraries. it's simply not a very humanly trait to excel at. but they do better than llms at taking requirements, design, taste, intent etc

i do the exact flow oh suhaik and struggled w this bc i kind of have a way of collecting info that might not be the same as others for me it's bookmarks on X, bookmarks on chrome, screenshots on my mobile, sometimes ill send a message to myself on a whatsapp group for myself etc ideally you want something that "sees" everything so you dont have to import bookmarks into it or do data entry, but also shouldnt violate data privacy (like all my screenshots in my case). and sort of build on top of claude code artifacts (super useful to learn concepts, explain BFS interactively and it does it live for you), allow voice dictation etc. just an improved learning experience i guess im just not sure if it's worth it to build this from scratch vs just manually import each time into claude or chatgpt cause it already has all the other cool features

it's not really like these people aren't eager to provide value and land a job. the precise reason she is complaining and her friends are complaining is because she's listing out all the usual positive signals academic and careerwise (and, what used to be seen as very hard is considered "expected" and doesnt bat an eye in today's market). so it's just more like, if you're schooled since youre in kindergarten till 18, then taught that only losers skip college, do your best in academics, do internships etc. of course the complaint is not understanding the current paradigm of society because precisely theyre put through the wringer for 20+ years in outdated education businesses that employers dont even care for

so why dont you offer an insight on what the market is prepared to pay and for what exactly and the avenues which require her value? the real issue is that society teaches youth academia, degrees are the crux of meritocracy and what you need to succeed in modern capitalism. so what exactly would you rather have her and thousands of people like her do? since society pulled a fast one on them and the advice that worked for 20 yrs no longer works, theyre the first to receive that

This is the most narcissistic take imaginable. "Distillation Attack" You mean that they read the output of your product? The output that you derived from all of our public information? The output that you derived from countless authors, teachers, and other individuals who post information on the web out of the sheer desire to help educate people who share their passions? What makes these accounts fraudulent? Did they not pay to access your product? The answer is always spoken clearly in the lie itself The lie is that this was fraudulent. The truth is that *you* are fraudulent. Intelligence is not private property if it's trained on public data. The training is the only legitimately "private" thing, and the methodologies for training are well established and can be replicated by any commercial enterprise.
