I never equated volume to "default privacy"... again with the false equivalencies. Default privacy on Zcash comes from the fact that any major Zcash wallet will default to shielded addresses and transactions. @zodl_app literally forces the users to shield their funds. Instead of making things up, go download a Zcash wallet and see for yourself. You may even like what you find 🤷
ZEC == BTC undersells it. Imagine a Bitcoin that actually worked as money: private, uncensorable, quantum secure, and used every day. That asset wouldn't be worth what Bitcoin is. It'd be worth orders of magnitude more. That's the Zcash thesis. Think bigger.

Just like a Monero user can choose not to share their view key a Zcash user can choose not to use transparent addresses. Your argument was that Zcash privacy was ineffective, because some users may choose to use taddrs. By that same flawed logic, you should argue Monero's privacy is ineffective, because some users may share their view keys.

@moni_ka76 @Sol_omo_n Actually no! Major wallets like @zodl_app use ephemeral taddrs in this scenario. See TEX addresses. What this means: KYC is only linked to your exchange deposit (duh). Nothing else.
@moni_ka76 Who said 90% of users transact in the clear? Currently ~64% of transactions are shielded. The main wallets require users to shield. Shielding is the default behavior. The shielded pool has ~$8B shielded and growing. Try sending $8B anonymously on literally any other network 🙃

@lex_node Fair take. I think most human rights are not inherently 'exciting' to people But man... I sure live happier in a society where people fight for their rights (not just privacy), so I'm going to keep doing my part 😅
