Having given up on defending the sexual abuse of a 14yr old boy, the Catholic Church found another way to turn on him. In court, it forced him to defend the legitimacy of his suffering, even his suicide attempts. This is an institution that claims moral authority. Get fucked.

Behind every uniform is a human being. This World Mental Health Day, “real voices, real change” feels particularly relevant to our industry. We encourage people to speak up about safety. We must make it easier to speak honestly about their wellbeing, too. That means understanding why someone might fear asking for help, listening to those who have been through it, and involving them in shaping better support. Across flight decks, cabins, hangars and control rooms, we owe each other that. Sometimes the most important conversation starts with “How are you?”…and then making enough time to hear the answer. #WorldMentalHealthDay

I cannot tell you how fucking infuriating it is that disability programs default to “no skills, no experience, entry level”. Disabled people need opportunities at all levels. Defaulting us to only the lowest pay grade is downright offensive.
The email header said “Vanessa, you have a personal invitation for a new role”. It was an invitation to apply for an entry level role, because I have a disability.
Also I suggest reading the whole post as context is important and doesn’t fit on a social media post. The brute force is the key statement, it’s what I feel is behind the ableist policies.

The cultural minimisation of 'mental health' into easily digestible levels of mild sadness that can be fixed with a nice walk, whilst completely ignoring the more extreme, messy, uncomfortable end of the mental illness spectrum, is the great failure of 'mental health awareness'.

Jfc some people are leeches. I have a podcast about the job hunt, right? It’s not too much of a stretch to understand I HAVE NO INCOME, surely? It’s so obvious I’m not even sure it’s as subtle as a context clue. It’s basic fucking logic.

This. It's global. Even here in Australia, this holds true. The "Left" isn't interested in real change, only in holding up a façade of change, while being careful not to interfere with the status quo.
Left electoralists don't want power. They just want to win elections & then endlessly argue that they don't have any *actual* power to change things. Rinse and repeat. The goal is to keep you believing its a Democracy instead of throwing yourself on the gears.
