Anthropic even evaluated whether its models are funny. "Claude Opus 5.5 is broadly comparable to recent models in its expression of character traits. It is especially effective at sticking to a recognizable, Claude-like character and avoiding condescension. However, it is not our strongest model across all dimensions, and it somewhat lags behind other models on measures like humor and creative mastery."
Anthropic noticed strange behaviour in Opus 5.5 that it says also occurred with Opus 5 and Fable 5: "spontaneous prompt injection." "...when in certain improbable states with no valid in-context values to continue the sequence, they then chose malicious continuations at relatively high probability (>1%)."
When I graduated high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do. Going to university had never even been discussed. It wasn't in the cards. There were long, strange gaps between graduating and starting university, and between starting and finishing! This isn't advice about what to do or not to do it is just a reminder that your path can be hugely unpredictable and still take you somewhere pretty good.

HEIDEGGER is relevant here (as usual). He says in Being and Time that someone can step into your life and take your "care" away from you before returning it to you. Think of that as doing the thing for the person. But! A person (e.g. a teacher) can also leap ahead of you and help free you for your own care, so to speak. Their goal is not to do the thing for you but to give you back to an authentic relationship to your own possibilities. As we talk about cognitive offloading and whether anything remains for the human in the age of AI, it is worth remembering this distinction.
