Ahmed Mustefa Deneto, a truck driver, ran over a man riding a motorcycle, killed him, and kept driving. Tuesday, October 13, 2026, about 6:08 a.m. Location: State Highway 23 and the northbound US Highway 151 Exit 40 ramp, Town of Mineral Point, Iowa County, Wisconsin The semi was northbound on USH 151 and took Exit 40. It went through the STH 23 intersection and hit a northbound motorcycle. The motorcycle had the right-of-way and had no stop sign. The semi kept going northbound and left the scene. Deputies got video from another semi parked along the road, which gave them a description of the truck. Around 11:45 a.m., a Detective Sergeant saw a matching semi heading southbound on USH 151. The truck was stopped near Ridgeway. Deneto, 49, of Iowa City, IA, was arrested and booked into the Iowa County Jail. He is charged with felony hit-and-run involving death. Per his Facebook, he is from Ethiopia,
ELDs are self certified and being so interconnected to a trucks sensors they become an easy attack vector. Can you imagine what the outcome would be if a terrorist cell hacked a fleet of autonomous trucks hauling hazmat?
Don’t worry, something like this will never happen to Aurora or Kodiak!
Wild.
🪖 New Rules, Same Loophole. The Army Transportation Command (ARTRANS) issued guidance on Oct. 1 that bans paper and magnetic markings for military freight outright: trucks need permanent decals, a 30-day lease on file, and a USDOT number that matches both the truck and the
@westtoeastt Correct. x.com/maybedaniellee…
We will continue finding direct links from Minnesota to Ohio to Pennsylvania to Illinois to Wisconsin to Texas to New York to Missouri to some very small communities in several other states.
Of course, the Virginia-based trucking company is linked to another one in Columbus, Ohio...
@lbc360 @HSI_HQ @maybedanielleee He’s working with a Abdullahi wardere out of the same address. I believe Abdullahi Wardere also deals in selling properties. Mohamed Yusuf Ali is the son of deported Colonel Yusuf Ali Tukeh but somehow he got to stay along with his mother.
We really needed those Somali truck driver from Minnesota...
Help me understand how and why someone who works for the Somali government is living in and went to school (or something) in North Carolina...
😂
I hope the (ex) employee who got upset at me for naming a conference room after Christopher Columbus back in 2017 is enjoying the federal holiday today.
Don’t worry, something like this will never happen to Aurora or Kodiak!
BREAKING: Hackers remotely defrost refrigerators at hundreds of French supermarkets, causing massive food spoilage.
@maybedanielleee That call home is a recovery break, not just a load search. Isolation wears a driver down and no ELD logs it.
@maybedanielleee The spouse-as-dispatcher call was never just about loads. It was a check-in, a second opinion on a bad rate, someone who knew your voice when something was off. A bot books faster. It won't notice when you're not OK.
@maybedanielleee Truck drivers are placed in solitary confinement for a week talking to nothing but AI bots. The only contact they get with the outside world is a shipper/receiver that hate them. Be nice, every problem a truck driver deals with they will relive in their head for the next 8 hours.
12 years old, and yes. But the work ethic doesn’t get tired.
Millennials who have been working since 16 years old MUST be tired.
My theory is that AI phone bots are detrimental to the mental health of truck drivers. You call home to have your loved one(s) log in and help you look for your next load. They stop what they’re doing, go to the computer, and you talk through the available loads. Then, you stay on the phone for a while, just talking. You need them just as much as they need you. Now, imagine replacing these two with an AI phone bot.
We need a study comparing the portrayal of mothers and fathers in old TV shows versus modern shows.
Dostoevsky will just drop a line like this and move on
