I am hoping the folks managing Yorùbá wiktionary will add this word to the list of Idioms. Thanks to my Dad for providing historical clarification. Comments or Suggestions below. Àgbéjẹmọwọ - Yorùbá Idiom Etymology À ("nominalizing prefix") + gbéjẹ ("to withdraw") + mọwọ ("hand to body") To withdraw one's hand close to (as an expression - "Gbéjẹmọwọ" to the point of it eating into) the body. Idiomatic meaning To put one's hand where it should be. Used to tell someone to desist from a bad/irresponsible behaviour. Used When a person, group, or organization is misbehaving. Verb Ṣ'agbéjẹmọwọ (ṣe àgbéjẹmọwọ) - To put one's hand where it should be Sentence usage "lọ ṣ'agbéjẹmọwọ" - (You should) desist from this (implied) behaviour Fictional comic book cover based on a story about a mischievous girl named Orẹolúwa. Iyere Ifa is a traditional Yoruba poetry of Ifa. Iyere Ifa is a tradition of chants and ancestral knowledge, preserved through generations from Odu Ifa.

I will start sharing handwritten notes on topics I like to talk about done exclusively in Yorùbá. They will either be brief or very detailed. Sometimes they will be translations of materials I read. Other times, this write ups may end up in digitized form. The focus is to showcase more of Kikọ outside of its digitized forms, however imperfect it may look for the camera. Today's write up is on writing systems and the major types of writing systems. For me, they are Logograms, Syllabograms, and Alphabets. I defined syllabic writing systems (syllabograms) as "Àpínrókọ" derived from the formation À-pín (divide)-ìró (sound)-kọ (write). I decided to leave Logograms and Alphabets in their Yorùbánised English forms. Please, if you have a name suggestion or something better than what I did, drop them in the comment. In the future, this would be the proverbial statement for the Kikọ literati. I have been developing a new calligraphic style marked by its fluid flowing lines, elegant feel, widened letters, filled loops, and a squished height among others.

Took the leap of getting verified, will be testing out this new power soon.

@dolapomabinuori There is a Vietnamese mobile keyboard called VIQR that does a much better job because it layouts out the tone mark on an additional zone space, it would be a better adaption for Yorùbá Latin. This are some of the findings I arrived at during research.

@dolapomabinuori Thank you for your input. That feature would still work in the QWERTY layout outlined above. The conventional way of holding a letter and "horizontally" cycling through tonal options is slow and inconvenient to use for actual extensive typing (more than a paragraph).

Two keyboard prototypes for typing Yorùbá in Kikọ on mobile devices. Our goal is to create a keyboard with seamless interaction. Current ongoing mobile dev research. We welcome capable programmers willing to tackle this challenge (DM if interested). More info coming.
