Warren Buffett on tax cuts for corporations. "Before the tax cut, the government had a 35% share of the stock on income. It didn't have a share of the assets, but it had a share of the income. If it wanted to change it to 40%, it could have changed it — but, fortunately, it changed it to 21%." "That invisible shareholder, the government, just handed us back a bunch of the shares of stock. Our shareholders benefited and a lot of other shareholders benefited."

John Ternus: "When I started [at Apple], the way we tended to make products was we were using technologies from other companies and we were effectively building the product around that. We made these beautiful products, but they were constrained by what was available. The Berkshire boys loved Value Line. BUFFETT: I don't know what we even pay for Value Line, but we get incredible value out of it. The snapshot it presents is an enormously efficient way for us to garner information about various businesses. MUNGER: The Value Line charts are a human triumph. When Tim Cook joined Apple, the company was on shaky ground. "Michael Dell had made a comment weeks earlier that if he were the CEO of Apple, he would close it down and give the money back to shareholders. That it had no future. And he was just saying what everybody thought. [But] they didn't know Steve [Jobs]. In that meeting, I concluded that all of those guys are wrong. They don't know him and they don't know his vision.
