Dentist did a 3D X-ray of my jaw before a root canal and said I wouldn't be able to open the raw data, it needs specialized software. It's 800 DICOM files. Asked Claude Code to make me a viewer. Two prompts later... this is nicer than what he showed me on his screen.

@TheStalwart SF has an estimated city proper population of approximately 812,500 residents. The wider Bay Area combined statistical area exceeds 9 million residents. SF and the wider Bay Area are not the same

@TheStalwart Not that much innovation out of SF from the 1950s on to today. Mnt view, san jose, cupertino, santa clara, redwood shores, south bay for much of chips/ tech. Tech workers from dot1.0 onwards like to live in SF, got more vibe. Maybe with OAI, Anthrop SF will now. Bio also

@TheStalwart @Lib_Development Hard business and regulatory enviro to build in all parts of CA. For rentals supply/demand easy to see in Austin, Salt Lake, Phoenix, etc. where supply was added, rents went down. Looking at built enviro in CA you don't see those projects 5over/1ones except Fremont, few spots

@TheStalwart @Lib_Development Prop 13, in 1978 locked all those boomers into low property taxes, so they stay in their places. people get more conservative as they age, even in liberal enclaves. SF supply is low. town i grew up in pop. 25k has added housing for 500-1000 in 50 years. very little change

@TheStalwart @isaacinthesky less spillover than you might think think. Open AI, Anthropic are effecting both rentals and sales a lot, just as google (early and ipo) did up to 2010 or so . (was pre-covid then, more commuters from SF to google.) COVID crushed SF real estate. Rebounding now

Lots of people asking about the shift to permanent daylight savings. The data clearly show locking to standard is best. For mental and physical health. That am sunlight is key, But if not, then locking to daylight savings second best. Shifting back-and-forth is the worst choice.

Pep Guardiola on Lionel Messi’s masterclass against England. 🗣️ “People keep asking me how Messi is still doing this at 39 years old. My answer is simple because football has never seen anyone like him. Age defeats everyone, but somehow it refuses to defeat Lionel Messi. What he did tonight was beyond football… it was art.” “England didn’t play against an old player. They played against the greatest mind this sport has ever produced. Two assists in a World Cup semi-final, controlling the rhythm of the biggest match on earth as if he were playing in his backyard. That is not normal. It is impossible to teach.” “I’ve stood on the touchline and watched Leo do things that left me speechless. Tonight, sitting at home, he made me feel exactly the same. Every touch had purpose. Every pass carried danger. Every decision was perfect. He didn’t run the most but he made everyone else run for him.” “The frightening part is that he no longer needs his young legs. His football brain is ten seconds ahead of everyone else. By the time defenders realise what is happening, the ball is already in the back of the net or a teammate is celebrating. That’s genius. Pure genius.” “People obsess over goals, but tonight Messi reminded the world that football is about creating moments no one else can imagine. Two assists that changed a nation’s history. Two passes that carried Argentina into another World Cup final. That is the definition of greatness.” “At 39, most legends are sitting in television studios talking about football. Messi is still writing football history. He isn’t surviving at this level he’s dominating it. That’s why I will always say there has never been, and there will never be, another player like Lionel Messi.” “When this World Cup is over, don’t just remember the trophies or the statistics. Remember that you witnessed a 39-year-old genius walk into a World Cup semi-final against one of the strongest teams in the world… and make them look ordinary. We are watching the final chapters of the greatest football story ever written.”
