Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. Matthew 6:9-13

“C.A.L.M.” October 07 By Kevin Burrell

"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done." Philippians 4:6

Coaches and Scouts

Say the word "anxiety" and we all know exactly what it feels like.

It’s that time of year again. Postseason baseball—and every Major League team in the playoffs are feeling it. October doesn't let up. Every pitch carries more weight than it did back in April. Every at bat has more riding on it. Every game feels heavier than the first 162 combined. Rookies are running on fumes. Players, pitchers, GMs, managers and coaches all feel the weight of trying to make it to the World Series. However a championship isn't the absence of pressure. It's what's left standing after pressure has tested you.

So how do we stay calm when anxiety shows up? Here are four practical, biblical steps.

C: Celebrate God.

“Always be full of joy in the Lord" (Philippians 4:4). When we remember who God is and all He's done for us, joy follows, and worship becomes the natural response. Celebrate God regardless of the situation.

A: Ask God for help.

“Tell God what you need" (Philippians 4:6). Make the big ask. Don't wait for the big stuff. Pray quickly and pray about everything, no matter how small. Prayer is how we hand our fears over to God and let Him take those anxious thoughts off our shoulders.

L: Look up and stay thankful.

“Thank Him for what He has done" (Philippians 4:6). Anxiety and gratitude can't share the same heart. Thanking God for the good times and the hard ones is a powerful way to loosen anxiety's grip.

M: Meditate on good things.

“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable" (Philippians 4:8). Don't dwell on the negative. Fill your mind with what's good, and surround yourself with people who are doing the same.

Listen Closely —

Remain C.A.L.M.

Remember, the giant of anxiety may knock on your door, but you don't have to pull up a chair and invite him in for dinner.

Love God. Love People. Live Sent.

Be Worth Being,

Kevin

Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart full of deep gratitude. Thank You for the gift of life, for watching over me through another year, and for blessing me with such wonderful people in my life. Lord, I thank You for every single friend, family member, and acquaintance who took the time to send a message, make a call, or say a prayer for me on my birthday. Their kind words and warm wishes touched my heart and made my day truly special. I ask that You pour out Your rich blessings upon each person who remembered me. Supply their needs, guide their steps, and fill their homes with Your peace, joy, and abundant grace. When it is their turn to celebrate, may they never lack those who will stand and rejoice with them. In Jesus' name, I pray. 🙏 Amen
