Perplexity lied about my business and it showed me why AI-powered search is so destructive. We searched "Lazy AI” on Perplexity. For context: @getLazyAI was the first to market full-stack AI engineer and after putting it off for months, we were prepping for a Product Hunt launch in June of last year. Just for fun, we searched "Lazy AI" on Perplexity during one of our daily standups. But what we saw next was the opposite of fun... 🧵
The dark truth about AI coding tools that nobody talks about: Behind the flashy demos and viral tweets lies a graveyard of half-built projects and broken promises. As CEO of Lazy AI, I've watched 100k+ developers struggle for 18 months. Take it from me: you are wasting your time and your money building projects with AI if you don’t know these 6 things. 🧵
This text-to-app app is really impressive. I just built an upvote site in 2 mins.
When working inside a monorepo, you can configure VSCode to launch all your dev commands at once, as soon as you open your workspace.
After 13 years of git I just now discovered `git diff --color-moved` — It detects and displays chunks that have moved, which is pretty common, in my experience. I find it really useful to be able to separate what has changed from what just moved around when reviewing some code.
Chrome's new default form styles are out 👀
Tip: In @ChromeDevTools, hold shift while hovering over a request and it will highlight the initiator in green and dependencies in red.

It was an intensive week🏃♂️🏃♀️but we've survived the feature freeze💪 Django 3.1a1 is coming! 🎉📢
I've been a developer for a couple of years and there are things I'd *pay* to learn when I started 😅 Unfortunately, some lessons come with experience, but luckily we can build on each other 💪 This is my best @ThePracticalDev post, you might like it 💯 dev.to/tlakomy/7-year…
Success: What we see VS what we don’t see
Over time, the #python world has shown increasing preference for double quotes: "hello" versus 'hello'. Perhaps, this is due to the persistent influence of JSON, PyCharm, Black, and plain English. In contrast, the interpreter itself prefers single quotes: >>> "hello" 'hello'

🔥 Netlify's Infrastructure team increased speed of deploys at scale by 2x! @opinionatedpie @ry_boflavin and I told the story of how, including what problems we faced, how we tackled the issue with better observability, and rolled it out to production! netlify.com/blog/2020/05/0…
#Python hidden gem: In version 3.4, the unittest module added subTest. If you use the unittest module, this is something you really need. It gives *much* more informative messages for failures in tests that loop over a selection of input values. docs.python.org/3.8/library/un…
💡TIP: The strategy pattern can be used to replace complex if/else logic This real world example finds IDs from the querystring, cookies, or hostname. Using this pattern, it is easy to add new strategies. It is also easy to test each strategy. #javascript #100DaysOfCode
On GitHub, I wish you could review parts of the code that haven't changed. Maybe this was an intentional product choice, the idea being that unchanged lines aren't relevant to the PR. But sometimes they are relevant precisely because they *should* have changed.
