If you need inspiration to keep going, or to believe it’s not too late to start, look no further than the Summer 2026 issue of @Missouri_Review. The foreword alone will put the wind back in your sails, but don’t stop reading there. I think this is my favorite issue so far (even if I’m not in it).

I kept a list of all the young tech people who jumped into my comments to tell me I had no ownership right to my website content, that AI is the future, and that I needed to cope with having my entire income wiped out by Google. I visit the names on that list now and then to see how they’re handling unemployment and the job hunt now that Google’s made it clear they had no ownership right in their job, that AI is the future, and that they need to cope with their entire income being wiped out by Google. They’re not coping well. Funny ol’ world.

No, on one of the sites I run I occasionally link products that I mention in articles. The links generate commissions when someone makes a purchase. Back in the day, the cookie lasted 30 days so any purchase made in that time counted. Now it’s 24 and that’s assuming Amazon doesn’t ignore the affiliate link.

@cterlson I withdrew from KENP so I could sell ebooks via a website. Never felt like they were accurately reflecting reads. I know they stiff me on affiliate product commissions all the time, too.
