I hate what AI is doing to publishing. I hate what it's done to the job market. I hate how it's ruined the internet. It's wrecking students' education and making people question every piece of content. I miss the world before AI more than I miss the world before the pandemic.

Can't believe I *STILL* have to say this to musicians, labels, and publicists, but TAG YOUR FUKKIN DIGITAL FILES. If you don't, I'm not listening to them, and surely many other critics and editors won't, either.

I spoke with the legend Liz Harris about the past and present of Grouper, ghosts, nature, going viral, the eternal virtues of DIY and the beautiful new album from her dream-pop band Helen theguardian.com/music/2026/oct…

New CYANIDE TOOTH is a companion EP to the recent 'A Scalpel to the Gums' album. This one is 6 tracks, 24 minutes. Some bangers, some noise, some heavy breathing. 5 dolla holla. Check it. cyanidetooth.bandcamp.com/album/the-othe…

Here's an idea for every artist and label on Bandcamp: DON'T TELL US ON THURSDAY WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO DO ON BANDCAMP FRIDAY. JUST DO YOUR THING ON BC FRIDAY. YOU'RE ALREADY DELUGING OUR INBOXES ENOUGH, FFS.

@colinize Yes. I am listening to it right now and want to continue doing so. It is far higher quality and infinitely customized to my tastes. If I don't like a song I can just modify it.

.@SoundTransit The U District station's stairwell could use a few good power washes. As of last night, it's in nightmarish condition.

At a Kalamazoo record store, I asked the clerk if they had any library-music records. He looked puzzled. I asked as tactfully as possible, “Do you know what library music is?” He said no & didn't seem curious at all about it. Granted, the shop was closing in 5 minutes, but still.

@ca2strophebufet Hmm... I've been into it since 2002 and have been doing a bimonthly DJ event focusing on library music since 2017, so there's a good chance I would.

I might be a little less distrustful of AI if the dudes promoting it, supporting it, insisting on it, and advocating for it weren’t the worst fucking people on the planet.
