@CowsEatGrassBlg I simply ask questions and inevitably ran into one of those 4 things. It's not that complicated. I'm not arguing that it's the only possible diet or that everyone needs to do it. But just like with most things -- if you don't do it right, you can't really blame the diet.

@MareeannM @CowsEatGrassBlg I never said they weren't eating enough fat because they were satiated. Most do it because they think "fat is bad" and so they eat the same lean chicken breast and tuna they ate when they ate carbs. That is a disaster waiting to happen. Low carb AND low fat is dangerous.

@CowsEatGrassBlg I don't know if it's EVERY FAILURE, but it is every failure of people I have spoken to that had issues. It's always one of four things - 1. didn't take the time to adapt (or interrupting adaptation) 2. Low fat and no carbs 3. Liver and organs 4. Under eating

@CowsEatGrassBlg Not really. People that take habits from pre-all-meat to all meat end up hurting themselves (organ meats, low fat (can't do low fat AND low carb without hurting yourself), restricting calories, etc. So yeah, done correctly.

@CowsEatGrassBlg I have never met a person that was ruined with the meat diet done correctly. I have met people that never made it through adaptation, people that ate too many organ meats and screwed themselves up, or they ate so low fat that they hurt themselves.

@pokerheadrush What about learning to play them post-flop multi-way (aka folding when you need to)? If you raise too big from early position most people fold and if it's not big enough, everyone calls (in most games). So it's either take down $4 or learn to play them multiway, no?

Not even close. A can of Coke triggers an insulin demand roughly two to three times higher than 100g of beef, dumping ~39g of liquid sugar straight into your bloodstream for an immediate spike. Ground beef has zero sugar. Protein triggers a much smaller, gradual insulin release alongside glucagon, which keeps blood sugar stable. Comparing the modest insulin response to amino acids vs. 39 grams of sugar in one hit is disingenuous. The only time it's remotely similar is if someone is diabetic, and even then, it's due to the liver converting excess protein into glucose and not a direct glycemic spike from what was eaten.

@SamaHoole Have any proof of this? Nothing in the US that is labelled ground beef is allowed to have binders, extenders, or hidden additions. It would have to be labelled something else. This seems to be a fear mongering post but why if you are carnivore?

Kruse's entire premise hinges on claiming America is the only place where the poor get obese, using that 'paradox' to argue CICO is broken. But his logic completely ignores the reality of the American welfare state: low-income Americans get hundreds of dollars in EBT every month earmarked strictly for food. Slapping the word 'Supplemental' on the program doesn't change reality. My family of four spends less on food per month than what many families receive in SNAP benefits—it easily covers a full month's worth of food. In America, the cheapest foods on the shelf happen to be high-calorie, ultra-processed junk, meaning EBT dollars buy an extreme calorie surplus, not starvation. Also, you are conflating starvation bellies with obesity. Fluid retention from severe protein malnutrition in starving kids isn't excess body fat
