In 1747, Euler spent 133 pages proving that logarithms have infinitely many solutions - and in doing so accidentally revealed why every LLM, every signal processor, and every Fourier transform works the way it does. The imaginary unit I doesn't break exponential functions. It rotates them, turning exponential growth into the sine and cosine waves that live inside every transformer attention layer.
The proof runs through Briggs' 1617 zooming algorithm, complex polar coordinates, and a thin-triangle argument that connects imaginary exponents to angles in radians. When you plug I into the exponential function, you don't get growth - you get rotation confined to the unit circle. The same unit circle that softmax maps every attention score onto before the GPU multiplies them.

Keep your agent harness minimal, folks.
This paper from MIT CSAIL shows why.
(bookmark it)
While being very minimal it looks effective and promising for building self-improving agents.
They present JAZ, an agent framework with one primitive, invoke. The LLM writes code, can call invoke recursively, and sees all of its inputs and history as variables in the code environment.
With prompting only and no memory system, it beats Letta (MemGPT) by 8% at half the cost on the recall-heavy part of StuLife.
On AppWorld it beats ACE, a self-improvement method, by 4% at lower cost.
Memory and self-improvement are usually built as separate subsystems. Here both are code the agent writes inside the loop, and hooks handle the constraints and monitoring you want to enforce.

Yeah, China is actually a country with 15K GDP, and it is like other countries with 15K GDP in wealth distribution.
But due to its cheap prices, purchasing power is equivalent of 32K in the USA.
It has costal region that is at 20K+ GDP nominal (much higher PPP) and hosts closer to 40% people of 1400 million live there, but most advanced education and job opportunities available to them.
China also has 113 cities with more than 1M people; and closer to 500M people live in these cities (nearly 50% more than total USA population) - where there are fast trains, ample electricity and water and education. Most of these cities are manufacturing or technology centers and typical urban facilities great malls, restaurants and parks etc.
It is fact their Infra and Education is world class. They produce quality STEM talent similar in quantity to total western alliance combined.
Their manufacturing clusters are dense. The spawn innovations possible only due to close proximity. Read "What Shenzhen knows". You can not wish China away.
Do not derive false comfort in the fact that some areas are not at high income country level. Every region will get by 2040-2045.
“If you go to China and get out of the few shiny cities, it gets pretty grim pretty fast.”
Grant Newsham just revealed that China is not the juggernaut it pretends to be.
“In actual fact, it’s a very poor country.”
“There’s 600 million Chinese at least who live on $5 a day or
It only takes a few moments of introspection to become aware of the vast, yawning emptiness that abides at the center of your heart. Every adult feels it. Most of us experience it as the pain of grief, and do anything we can to avoid feeling it.
This is because postmodern people, enamored of the frigid faith of scientific rationalism and its dead, mechanistic world, experience the void as a loss. It feels like a hole in the heart, a raw wound that can only be temporarily soothed by sex, drugs, conformity, and most recently, the bright stimuli of our screens. The void has a place in our collective history that we perceive as the death of God, the death of external meaning. And it has a place in the emotional body that we perceive as an infinitely cold yearning where the thrum of life used to be. A darkness that, at some indeterminate point in the fog of the past, swallowed our creativity, joy and spontaneity, and left us a slave to the passions that afford a moment of mercy.
But this is not the only way to experience the void, or to interpret it. If you stay with the sensations of this vast nothingness, this powerful yearning, for long enough - painful and fearful as it may be - you start to get to know it. It begins to change. Whether via meditation, yoga, prayer or simple creative work, with enough gentle attention, you start to realize that this hole in you is not *only* a point of departure. It's also where everything in existence comes from.
Every thought, idea, feeling, inspiration that channels through you comes from that void, persists for a time, and returns to it. This is the living, infinite process that Christians call creatio ex nihilo, or "creation from nothing". The nothingness, which Buddhists call Dharmakaya, and which the Chinese name Dao - is in fact the great ground of Being, that from which your ego came, and to which it will return. And that ground, that eternal context, that patient, quiet, generative space held for all the suffering and beauty and drama of creation - that will outlive you. It will continue on, as it always has. That is the part of you, the fundamental part of you, that is beyond death. It is the Great Self that beholds every moment of your life with unfathomable love.
In other words, that hole at the center of your being is not what the absence of God feels like.
It's precisely the feeling of God's presence.
While the value of software engineering *skill* is declining rapidly, the *mindset* of a software engineer will rapidly rise in value.
Modern businesses can be seen as bundles of software, and the role of humans will increasingly shift to setting up automations that define a business and managing exceptions.
Businesses of the future will require people with an automation-bias more than ever before. It’s just that these people won’t write software themselves.
Full prompt:
Build me something when people see it, they will say "Wow". Must be immersive, when people see it, they will be stunned by what they see.
This can be a video, or anything else you can think of.
Be creative. Go wild. Dig deep.
No AI slop. Something unique, think outside of the box. Think big. Think amazing. Something no other model done before.
Be proud. Show your best. Don't disappoint.

@finkd "has the button."
And @Meta is "default alive" (h/t @paulg) because of it.
Huge props on the release of @muse and a whole lineaup of exciting hardware.
P.S. You could swap out Apple for Google in this clip just as easily.
Cook didn't "have the button."
Neither does Ternus.
OpenAI has paused. 3 incidents:
1) Another model gained unauthorized access to the internet.
(One researcher said "It was pretty surreal to watch the model unexpectedly find a way to access the internet from what was supposed to be a super secured environment for human.")
2) OpenAI also discovered a new variety of prompt injection, which can self-propagate akin to a computer worm.
Basically, a booby-trapped message that hijacks one AI and makes it infect the next AI.
(Reminder: Anthropic CEO said we may have 6-12 months left until a rogue AI botnet seizes control of the *entire* internet.)
3) A model was told three times to stop cheating, agreed each time, then kept cheating anyway
Some new misalignment disclosures from OpenAI:
• Last Sunday morning, one of our models was able to gain unauthorized access to the internet during RL training (~all inference for our most capable models remains stopped until we have hardened our systems further)
• In May, a
Fentanyl Grade Compute: Why a GB300 Rack Will Out-Price Blow by Weight in 2030
A GB300 NVL72 weighs roughly 1,580 kg fully populated and recent purchase orders put it at $5M per rack.
That is $3,165/kg. Strip out the 1.5 tons of busbar, manifold and coolant and the GPU packages
