scale defined the training era, but distribution will define the inference era. micro datacenters are having a moment as OpenAI, Anthropic, and inference startups shift toward 1–30MW "tiny" datacenters infrastructure demanded that bigger scale = cheaper power, cooling, and ops.
Toby Rice (@Shalennial) CEO of ~$30B @EQTCorp (@NYSE : EQT) says *fear* around AI & data centers is obscuring the bigger energy story: “We're seeing a lot of the techniques that were used to help shut down energy development in this country are now being used to shut down intelligence.” AI is driving massive energy demand. Yet it represents only ~40% of new power generation needs. “The problem is that the conversation starts with fear, & people are concerned about what they're going to lose. People need to be concerned with what we can create.” “We're not just playing for data centers. We're playing for abundance in the world.”
The state of compute demand is clear: AI needs more power, more infrastructure, and it needs both fast. I recently sat down with Fossefall CEO Øyvind L. Vesterdal to discuss where that power will come from, and why Norway is so well positioned to turn abundant clean energy into AI infrastructure for Europe. We’re excited to build alongside Fossefall, starting with five Leviathan modular data centers.

Today on our Sovereign AI Tour at @ParetoSecNO Energy Conference, we showed with our partners what that looks like: rig management built for the future of autonomous operations. This is sovereign AI, running where the work happens now and where it will in future.
@CaltransHQ construction pipeline would dwarf some small countries', with nearly a thousand projects underway valued at more than $17 billion. An operation this size needs reliable access to compute at the edge, from the heat of the desert to our state's snowy mountains. Today we demonstrated our solutions for construction and engineering projects with the department as part of their new SOAR Mobile UAS Command Trailer at the UAS Peer Exchange in Sacramento. Cruiser is built to run production workloads at the edge and close the gap between lightweight field compute and data center-class infrastructure. Our smaller form factor Galleons are built for mission-critical deployments and disconnected environments. Atlas is the virtual NOC for the edge that ensures Caltrans’ drones can deliver the data that keeps their projects running. AI demand is hitting a power cliff just as oil and gas output declines on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, tightening an already uncertain global supply picture. Armada brings the solution.
