@ophello @melodaysong Crazy that people are shitting on you for adding context. It’s like they’re mad that you shattered the cute story.

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

@strawhatsloth @Pontifex The point isn’t whether AI content is passable as human content. It’s about deciding now that what is human derived is fundamentally different than what a machine can produce. We are talking about essence, about ethics, not about material composition.

> Netanyahu expected to lose election > He’s still facing 7 criminal charges > He takes a trip to the UAE this week > He returns to Israel after 6 hour meeting > He warns of terror plot before elections > Iranians respond saying they are not planning attack & Netanyahu is just trying to cancel the elections > 24 hours later flight FZ1073 takes off from UAE to Israel > Attempted hijacking & 9/11-style terrorist attack on flight > Israeli special ops on board thwart attack > Netanyahu immediately convenes security cabinet meeting All too predictable…

Code enforcement shows up on a couple’s Ring camera three days after they poured a side walkway on their own property. Not even a parking pad. They didn’t put rebar under it because it wasn’t meant for cars. The same guy was there when the project started. Said nothing. Came back after it was already poured, slapped a red tag on it, and told them they can’t have a “third car driveway.” Said nobody else has one. Is this local government overreach, or should you actually need city permission to pour concrete on land you already own? Do you think the inspector is being a jerk to these people?

Code enforcement walks onto a man’s property over cars in the yard. They showed up on his land and told him he can’t work on his son’s car in a residential neighborhood. Is this overreach, or does it sound like he is just running a junkyard in his driveway?

The NFL is now threatening to pull Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair from games if he continues to wear eye black in support of Palestine. Never forget, they allowed Vikings kicker Greg Joseph to wear Israel cleats on the field, and actively promoted his campaign to donate money to Israel for every successful field goal.

@TheDemonBaz666 They were code-switching in reverse. They wanted to make you feel left out lol

Had an "interview" for a blockchain project last week. Camera was on, we're chatting, and the guy tells me to clone a GitHub repo and run it locally before we go further into the technical round. I said sure, but first can you do me a favor hold up 3 fingers in front of your face for me real quick. He froze. Didn't move. Just sat there for a few seconds before the call cut off and he blocked me. That's when I knew. A real interviewer doesn't glitch out over a random ask like that. A deepfake/AI overlay does. These "run this repo" scams are getting scary common in crypto and dev hiring right now. The setup is always the same: - flattering DM - real-sounding project - rushed timeline - a "quick step" before the call that's really just remote access or a credential stealer in disguise. If someone wants you to run code or install something before you've even had a real conversation, that's the whole scam. Trust the instinct. Stay safe out there.

@nyccommonsense Shut the fuck up

All of Ed Sheeran’s openers have now withdrawn from the Looper Tour. Please realize how big this is. This is what unity looks like. Billionaires are terrified of people realizing how strong they can be when we come together for a cause. Continue speaking out. Support the new artists that are deciding to put their careers at risk to take this stance.

I still think about the guy who pointed out that "the underlying purpose of Al is to allow wealth to access skill while removing from the skilled the ability to access wealth." Rarely have I seen Al described so succinctly.

The accusation that I am antisemitic is appalling and fundamentally dishonest. Criticizing the actions of the Israeli prime minister, a military technology contract, or the executives who supply it is not the same as criticizing Jewish people. This critical and necessary dialogue is then dishonestly framed as being anti-Israel. To be clear, my views come from my own political convictions and should never be interpreted as hostility toward Jewish people, for whom I have deep love and respect.  Everything I know about acting, activism, and humanism has been profoundly shaped by the Jewish friends, colleagues, and loved ones who have been integral and family throughout every point of my life. This merger has real consequences for real people, and for the entire country. Scrutinizing the Ellisons, including Oracle’s business built on data, surveillance technology and government contracts, and the serious threat to editorial freedom and the loss of a livelihood for thousands of families, is fair and necessary. The $111 billion deal would hand one family control over CNN, HBO and Warner Bros., backed in part by foreign money whose influence on editorial decisions has never been fully explained to the public.  Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have called for serious national security review, and regulators still haven’t given the public a real answer. Until they do, the merger shouldn’t move forward. Now is the time to dive boldly into all these issues, not step back or concede.

@based_marvel @jbillinson Lol so forget all the other boroughs?

Zohran Mamdani, what is your plan to stop people who don’t live in the city from snapping up our precious inventory of AMC Lincoln Square IMAX 70mm DUNE PART 3 tickets

@kamikazecash @MinisterKOH @Brrrrrrrjhffjj @RefinedPopulist Bro they’re so out of touch, they haven’t been to a Chili’s in ages. I will be the first one to say that shit is ridiculously expensive nowadays, but it ain’t at Chillis. That’s like one place that is actually affordable.

It would take far more than a month to honor the contributions of queer and transgender New Yorkers. From the Cercle Hermaphroditos in 1895, the first trans advocacy group in the United States, to the drag balls of the Harlem Renaissance, to the Stonewall uprising, to the Lesbian Herstory Archives, to ACT UP!, founded in 1987 as queer people fought for their lives while the Reagan administration looked away, New York City's history has long been shaped by queer and trans New Yorkers. To all our queer and trans neighbors: you deserve a City where you can afford to live safely, openly, and joyfully. Happy Pride, New York City.
