"First wealth, then kids." 39% of people say they don't have kids due to financial limitations. And I get it. I was in the same situation. My girlfriend wanted kids, and I wanted to postpone it. I always thought I didn't have enough financial freedom to provide for my family. But then my partner got pregnant in the least comfortable situation: I was unemployed. I stopped looking for a job and decided to freelance. I couldn't wait any longer. More than 2 years have passed, and I'm not in a worse situation. My daughter has been fortunate enough to travel a lot in her lifetime. We go out for dinner almost every week. She takes part in paid activities, and I've never really had to say, "We need to stop paying for this." First, kids don't consume as much wealth as one might think. You just transfer your spending to other things. Secondly, kids force us to be more productive. We're no longer building wealth just for ourselves. We're building wealth to provide the best possible life for someone we love unconditionally. Do you need a stronger motif than that? But building wealth shouldn't compromise attachment either. That's why I've decided to spend half of my days with her since she was born. 39% is a big percentage, and there may be a slice of that percentage that genuinely can't afford to have kids due to financial struggles. But don't wait to be rich to have kids. Probably, kids will make you rich instead.

Day 962 of parenting kids and agents. Today I finished the garden house with my daughter. She was super happy, and wanted to play with it all day. I had to tell her that daddy needs to parent some agents now, we'll continue the adventure tomorrow. She understands, as long as I keep my promise.
