Choose your own adventure for sure! I remember vividly, finally had a computer in my room with Windows 3.1. One day I decided to "clean" my machine of useless files... You know, .dlls, .bat files, etc... Several minutes later the machine would no longer boot, after a reboot. The next few days, thought it was cooked and I ruined the machine. Over the next few days I learned from trial and error how to format/reinstall windows. All I had was the disks and failure until success. I think this was a key moment in my life that led me to where I am now.

The next reason, is one day the ease of access you have now, will not be as easy or as cheap to obtain. The best models will not be for the general public, higher tier models will be expensive commercial only and the models for the general public will be limited to ensure general population cannot compete and can be controlled.
