Of course young people gravitated toward it. What the hell did you expect? You gave us monetary nihilism and accidentally invented digital scarcity. You spent fifty years financializing everything that could breathe and then acted stunned when an entire generation became obsessed with the one asset whose supply curve cannot be negotiated over lunch. Bitcoin is volatile? Fantastic. So is spending 40 years storing your labor in a monetary system whose long-term operating procedure is “increase denominator.” Bitcoin is risky? Life is risky. Being born after the affordable-housing era is risky. Depending on Congress for fiscal restraint is risky. Planning a 40 year retirement around permanently positive real returns is risky. Holding an asset because a television man in a quarter-zip called it “conservative” is risky. The entire modern financial system is risk wearing khakis. Bitcoin simply has the decency to show you the chart. And maybe Bitcoin fails. Nothing in history owes us victory. But at least the proposition is coherent: Human time is scarce. Therefore the thing we use to preserve the product of human labor should probably be scarce too. A civilization cannot indefinitely tell its young to work more, own less, borrow more, delay children, houses, freedom, and of course, to TRUST the INSTITUTIONS. Eventually somebody flips the table. Bitcoin IS the table flip.

55 hours in, the Bitcoin Red Team campaign led by @callebtc and @Rob1Ham has grown to 24 contributors working around the clock scanning bitcoin ecosystem code for vulnerabilities using AI. The numbers so far are staggering. 425 projects scanned, 6,700 total findings filed, and 1,029 classified as high or critical severity. That's roughly 19 high-or-critical findings per hour. Perhaps the most notable detail: not a single vulnerability was found by a US frontier model. The team is spending $10k a day running open-weights models like Kimi K3 and Qwen 3.8 instead because US models refuse to assist with vulnerability research without heavy gatekeeping. The campaign is funded by @OpenSats and individual donors.

Bitcoin Red Team Update: We have been working around the clock, with ~$20,000 of spend up to this point across different services. Funding is secured, I appreciate all the gestures for donations but it is not necessary. The bill is taken care of. We have done over a dozen disclosures up to this point, with 150 repos scanned. The hardest part is coordinating to get things to the right people (thank you @danielabrozzoni for the help) I have a first pass on a bitcoin red team agent harness which only requires an @opencode zen api key, makes it easy for us to use K3 for the actual heavy lifting and then GPT Sol + Fable/Opus + GLM5.2 for supporting documentation. While it is powerful, having found critical issues, I would view this as only version one. There is a lot of iteration I'm looking forward to improving on. Our goal is to open source the harness so it can be pointed at internal repositories for insights so the hardening of defenses can go deeper than the code which is made public. We also have been connected with OpenAi for some help so I could manage getting the @OpenAI Cyber Harness running as well (thank you @lylepratt ). Its a much more expensive scan, but well worth it for load bearing portions of the bitcoin ecosystem and has already yielded good results. Goals for tomorrow are scale in processes and systems so we can do a better job and automating full end to end functionality to get humans out of the loop for the heavy lifting. The first mile (requests/staging) and last mile (handoff of reports) are the choke points right now. Thank you @stutxo @callebtc @benthecarman @thesimplekid and so may more.
