I watched ABC 4Corners episode on Monday about One Nation and then had a conversation yesterday with someone near Kempsey who lives on a property near Willawarrin which was impacted badly in the 2019 bushfires. He said he was going to vote for One Nation because they listened to the ordinary people. I tried to talk about some of the issues raised in the 4Corners episode and he left the room and walked outside. Their followers just don't want to know anything that challenges this belief that Pauline Hanson, Barnaby Joyce and One Nation have their interests at heart. I tried to remind him that Barnaby's entire political career exactly the same way. Gaining support from regional Australia for saying he was opposing the final sale of Telstra, only to renege on his promise 6 weeks after he was elected to the QLD Senate. Time and time again Barnaby and One Nation have always voted in the interests of big mining corporations, Multi National Cotton Growing Corporations, or lining their own pockets. I am really concerned about the future of this country if hardworking, decent Australians like the guy I was talking to refuse to listen to anything but the false promises One Nation are making.
