I suppose it's a type of ambition executed through the guise of romance. It's not wrong to want to live well, but as I said earlier marriage and family should be rooted in honest and genuine affection. You see these women post requirement checklists like a job description on LinkedIn. You don't see them say "I want to be in love" and it's hard not to notice that. Who wants to be in a loveless marriage? Certainly not any self respecting man. To be in one is to be made an eventual heartbroken fool. A striver could be anyone trying to social climb and ascend in wealth through association. The archetype appears to be the kind of woman who approaches marriage like they are attacking the corporate ladder. How purposeful the deception involved is left to interpretation, but at a minimum it appears to be from shallow, selfish and self absorbed women. Ones too involved with themselves to reciprocate in an honest marriage and more apt to run for the nearest exit at the slightest inconvenience. The purpose for me isn't to paint all women as terrible people, but to point out what leads to good and bad outcomes.

When I was a Delta pilot, I used to layover in Minneapolis a lot. I visited the Mall of America a few years ago. I’d heard about it and had lots of time to kill.
