Came across this rare old IAF recruitment adv featuring Wg Cdr Rakesh Sharma (Retd.), India’s first man in space.
A fascinating piece of aviation history!
Confirmed / #Poonch : The piglets came inside our territory with hostile intent.
They didn't know Indian Army was keeping a close watch on their movements.
Once they came into kill zone, within seconds they were put into a meat grinder.
Weapons can be clearly seen on the piglets just before their final moments.
Indian Army's top tier surveillance network has captured all their movement and also the evacuation of their dead bodies by Pakistani soldiers.
Forget thermals and night fighting, hand signals and shouting as their primary means of communication in 2026
Absolutely shameful, how many 1000s of officers have served and retired happily overseeing this mess in their role?
@VishnuNDTV@ShivAroor this isn’t rocket science but it’s being made out to be an impossible task. I doubt you’ll get any former general with the backbone to speak about this subject on camera. They will hide behind empty platitudes like honour and man behind the machine and send their lowest ranks into combat equipped like their great grandfathers

The Indian Army has one method for equipping the ordinary jawan:
-float a tender
-let it stall in spec changes and trial loops
-rush an emergency buy from whoever can deliver in 12 months,
-and leave the peace-station battalions waiting.
The helmet went through it. The carbine went through it for nearly twenty years. Body armour skipped it altogether, and jawans even ended up buying their own carriers.
The result:
-put a 1971 jawan next to one in a peacetime garrison today -and the kit matches
-iron-sighted rifle, canvas harness
-a helmet with nowhere to mount a radio or a night sight.
-it's all a bit too sad really
Consider the helmet:
-much of the Army outside the frontline still wears the Model 1974.
-it's a fibreglass shell built to protect the head from falling rocks.
-it does not stop bullets
-atleast a steel helmet from World War II stopped a pistol round.
-the Model 74 doesn't
-in 2017–18 the Army bought 1.58 lakh Mukut composite helmets from MKU.
-these stop pistol rounds and shrapnel. They do not stop a rifle bullet, the round an AK-47 fires
-in early 2022 the Defence Ministry invited bids for 80,000 helmets that can stop rifle bullets.
-the tender got stuck — specifications kept changing, trials dragged on — and stayed stuck
- so the Army used an emergency route to buy 45,000–60,000 helmets quickly from MKU and SMPP.
-this was "fast", but it left the force with helmets from different makers that don't match, and units away from the frontline still waiting
This sort of issue persists in the procurement of many other things as well.
-night vision: the section commander carries a thermal imager; the individual jawan has no night optical device,
-and the Model 74 has no shroud to mount one anyway
-comms: no intra-squad radios.
-a firefight today runs on hand signals and shouting, unchanged since WWII
Across the LAC, the PLA has mass-issued composite helmets, thermal scopes, digital comms and body armour to its combined-arms brigades
What have we done?!?

Yes Vishnu, I said NO- Chinese Tank does not have STANAG 6 it has HIGHER level protection; but you presumed since I said NO - it has lower.
I explained in detail that a heavier tank cannot climb slopes and is more vulnerable ie a tank with 36 tons but to cater for 30mm APFSDS - a minimum of STANAG 6 is required.
STANAG 6 was part of initial QR with weight given as 25 Tons plus/minus 10%. So to increase the protection from current STANAG 4 to STANAG 6, the weight penalty is only 2 ton which does not impact any operational capability.
Areal density - For 7 m² - frontal arc
STANAG 4~100–150 kg/m² x 7 = 0.70–1.05 t
STANAG 6~350–450 kg/m²x 7 = 2.45–3.15 t
Increment= +1.4–2.45 t
And this is PSQR (prelim SQR) not final SQR which is GSQR. Though STANAG 6 is achievable with 25+2.5 tons, but if it cannot be achieved - the User will/can accept STANAG 6 minus as MARK 1.
This is why chose MAKE-1 which is design and development and not a PROCUREMENT.
A reminder that Abhishek Manu Singhvi himself said recently that he prefers that the INC not take the legal route and rather focus on “taking it to the streets”.
Why does he in his wisdom think so, and why do such silly defects exist in such a crucial filing is open to debate.
#BREAKING: Supreme Court Registry identified 14 defects in Lok Sabha LoP Rahul’s petition, including missing documents, incomplete authorisations for nine petitioners, a blurred copy of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s ID card and a ₹220 court-fee shortfall. The case can
In 12 years, protesters have made the Modi government repeal laws and make a minister resign.
But none of them has built a party that can beat the BJP in an election. Their leaders have joined other parties, lost their deposits or gone back to the streets. 🧵

Nine months ago, this did not exist.
Today, India can build its own Fast Steering Mirror. QOSMIC’s FSM has cleared thermal vacuum and vibration qualification, both on the first attempt.
The FSM is the fine-pointing core of every optical link: satellite to ground, satellite to satellite, ground to ground. It holds a laser locked on target while everything around it moves, making hundreds of tiny corrections every second.
To put that precision in perspective: lay a grid over Rashtrapati Bhavan. From 500 km above your head, our FSM is designed to point a laser link at any single point on it.
Only two or three suppliers worldwide build this class of hardware. So we built ours.
From nothing to space-qualified in under a year.
Built to survive launch. Now it waits for one 👀

JSR Dynamics stealthy, jet-powered strike drone, with a range of 1,000 km, a max speed of 900 km/h & warhead carrying capacity of 27-50 kg.
Its LO design and high speed make interception very difficult, making it a potential asset for striking HVTs and critical enemy infrastructure. 🇮🇳
The Indian Army has messed up the basics.
Put a soldier from the 1971 war beside many of its soldiers today, and their rifles, helmets and jackets would look much the same.
And the army expects them to make up for the old gear by being 'brave'. 🧵
#Update JSR Dynamics to Conduct Flight Trials of 1,650 km Range IAF-Contracted Miniature Ground-Launched Decoy in Coming Months
JSR Dynamics has developed the Miniature Ground Launched Decoy (MGLD) to penetrate hostile air defences by replicating combat aircraft radar signatures and flight paths using an active radar emulator.
✅Key Specifications:
• Mass: 400 kg | Length: 4.29 m | Wingspan: 2.86 m
• Range: ~1,650 km | Endurance: ~3 hr | Speed: Mach 0.6
• Alt: 10 km (Ceiling: 12.4 km) | ROC: 57 m/s | Angle: 26°
• Payload: Active radar emulator / EW jammer
✅The IAF-contracted system is slated for flight trials in the next 2–3 months.
✅Status: Under IAF contract; flight trials in 2–3 months; 100% IDDM.

All digits from 0 to 9, were developed in India. Arab mathematicians taught them to the Europeans & they’ve been called "Arabic numerals" ever since. India did the work, someone else got the name.
At @sssdefence we value our recipe & proudly flaunt our Indian taste. There’s real spice in our creations. They’re called the G72P, Raptor, M72 & G72. Odd names for Indian weapons these days. But they really are ours & yours too. #aatmanirbharbharat
