@MetaQuestHelp for the first time, I’m unable to open the app. What’s up? (Is it me?)

@TheAtlantic @ProfEmilyOster Now do crack.

I can’t get over these images from the James Webb Space Telescope! They’re igniting curiosity and wonder in a whole new generation.

Now it’s time to join the activists who have been leading this work for years and do even more.  That means volunteering in your community. It means supporting organizations like @PPFA, @USOWomen, and your local abortion fund that are doing great work. And it means voting in every single election — especially local ones where you can have an even bigger impact.  It’s the best way to turn a setback into far more lasting progress. So let’s keep working.

Thank Ya'll. I am sincerely appreciative of folks who giving my art and story place in their lives to listen. Love and Respect. 🤲🏾

To honor #Juneteenth is to recognize the intersectionality between LGBTQ+ equality and racial justice. True Black liberation continues to be challenged today by systemic racism and oppression. Our fight for equality is synonymous with the fight for Black freedom.

If you're more concerned with this flag than you are attacks against LGBTQ+ people, gun violence in our communities, restrictive laws around bodily autonomy and extremists trying to undermine our democracy, you may want to revisit your priorities.

Since GOPers seem obsessed with the idea that 7-year-olds are undergoing gender-reassignment surgery in droves, I thought I'd do a little research. All of these numbers are from the year 2021, and only pertain to the United States. Population for the 6-18 age range: 58,325,322 Gender dysphoria diagnosis (6-17): 42,167 Puberty blockers (6-17): 1,390 Hormone therapy (6-17): 4,241 Mastectomies (13-17): 282 Mastectomies (Under 13): 0 The next set of data is for the years 2019-2021. Genital surgeries (13-17): 56 (approximately 19 p/year) Genital surgeries (Under 13): 0 reuters.com/investigates/s… #RepublicansLieAboutEverything #VoteBlueToStopTheStupid

🚨🚨🚨MAJOR BREAKING: Donald Trump is facing five years in prison and a felony because of a law HE SIGNED in attempt to punish Hillary Clinton in 2018. Oh this is GOOD! The law HE SIGNED upgrades the crime of wrongly moving classified material from a misdemeanor to a felony.

For the first time ever, we're declaring a national state of emergency as LGBTQ+ Americans face extremist attempts to roll back our rights. It's more important than ever we have the necessary resources to stay safe no matter where we are. hrc.im/warning

Would Apple buy Disney? That subject has received some fresh attention… …after the unveiling of Vision Pro. Here’s more on the story… 🧵

Another Message to Allies: Hey Allies, I am writing as a queer trans woman but I *suspect* that this is relevant to allyship generally. We love y'all and also allies as a category can be exhausting. Hear me out please! 1/🧵

Taking notes of all the teams, brands, leagues, etc that will be posting for Pride Month but stay silent about anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and hate. Your allyship is not helpful if it's only there to make you look good. Get to work. Speak up all year long. Be about it.

On this day in 1921, The Tulsa Race Massacre happened in the affluent black community of Greenwood in Tulsa (Black Wall Street) White supremacists killed more than 300 African Americans and looted & burned to ground homes & businesses. History of Tulsa before the riot A THREAD

In 1984, a young individual named Ryan White, aged 13, from Indiana, USA, contracted Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Ryan, who was a hemophiliac and lacked the natural ability to clot blood, depended on blood transfusions to receive necessary platelets and prevent excessive bleeding. Unfortunately, one such transfusion accidentally exposed him to HIV-infected blood. In December of that year, he was diagnosed with HIV and given a life expectancy of merely six months. When Ryan attempted to return to his high school, he faced rejection. Despite medical professionals affirming that HIV does not spread through airborne means but rather through bodily fluids, societal ignorance prevailed. People at the time associated HIV with the "gay disease," as it was predominantly diagnosed among gay men in the Western world. Consequently, Ryan encountered discrimination, with his school denying him entry. Even though he was straight, Ryan became a target of harassment, with individuals hurling derogatory remarks like "queer" and even resorting to acts of intimidation such as firing a bullet through his house window, all in an attempt to drive him away from the town he called home. Many of his friends abandoned him as well. A petition signed by 360 students, 117 parents, and 50 teachers aimed to exclude him from the school. Nonetheless, Ryan and his parents refused to surrender to the school's unfair decisions and continued to fight for his right to education. Finally, in 1986, Ryan was readmitted to the school. While some students left in response, others extended their support by shaking his hand, demonstrating solidarity. Tragically, Ryan White passed away in 1990. His funeral drew a crowd of over 1,500 attendees, including notable figures such as Elton John and Michael Jackson. Ryan's legacy stands as a testament to the societal and social pressures surrounding individuals with AIDS and the LGBT community. He valiantly challenged the system, societal prejudices, and those who perceived him as a threat. Surpassing the initial life expectancy prediction by six years, Ryan's courage, strength, and determination continue to inspire and resonate to this day.

BREAKING: @NPR drops bombshell, reveals that Elon Musk just sent them a “series” of angry emails “threatening” to revoke their Twitter handle and “reassign it to another company” if they don’t “start tweeting again.” One ex-Twitter executive was shocked by Musk’s threat, telling NPR that such a threat “should be alarming to any business operating on the site, since it indicates that acquiescing to Musk's every whim may be necessary in order to avoid being impersonated on Twitter.” Social media experts say that Musk’s threat “poses a serious risk of impersonation and could imperil a company's reputation” and that “if this is a sign of things to come on Twitter, we might soon see even more of a rapid retreat by media organizations and other brands that don't think it's worth the risk," said Emily Bell, a professor at Columbia Journalism School who studies social media. "It's really an extraordinary threat to make." Last month, NPR effectively quit Twitter after Musk applied a label to the news organization's account that falsely suggested it was state-controlled. Other public media organizations, including PBS and the Canadian Broadcasting Corp., followed suit and stopped tweeting following similar labeling. In an email sent at 2:19 a.m. EST after this story was originally published on the NPR website, Musk wrote a new email to NPR without any text in the body but with this subject line: "You suck." Please RT to expose Musk’s awful tenure as Twitter CEO, smash the ❤️ if you have NPR’S back against him, and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel.com, a new Twitter alternative that I created that Musk is trying to keep everyone from finding out about. He banned Tribel’s Twitter account last week — but he has yet to ban this link to download Tribel’s new app: tribel.app.link/okwPIHYCIqb
