Top 5 lessons from 700 workouts: 1. Track your progress - your memory sucks 2. Review your average body weight weekly - not daily 3. You only eat a clean diet when you cook it 4. Time your rest periods 5. No fancy routines needed - the same basic exercises will always work

How do you wear your road to improvement? Are you being kind to yourself? Can you laugh in the face of your shortcomings?
What difficulty are you deliberately choosing, and what difficulty are you creating unnecessarily?
@tferriss I share this tendency to over-analyze decisions myself. I'm learning to lean into letting action teach me more than strategy, but as always, it's easier said than done. These reminders help. Thanks for everything.
Understand reality well enough to choose your next action, then let action teach you more about reality.
Reality doesn't negotiate with your preferences. - Money still needs to be earned. - Bodies still need to be trained. - Relationships still need attention. - Businesses still need customers. - Deadlines still exist. - Your feelings still fluctuate. - Problems still appear. - Time still passes. If you misunderstand those forces, they don't stop operating just because you misunderstood them.
10 Miles baby!! We did it!!
81.7 kg -> 71.3 kg - Not impressive, but very proud. Proof of thousands of tiny, good decisions made. Weight lost: 10.4 kg's (22.88 lbs) in 3 years, and still no abs to be found. #progress #fitnessprogress #weightlossdiary #fitness #abs
A Serious Conversation With Myself
Create options. Don't tell someone exactly what to do; offer another way to see the situation.
Learning should eventually become action. Consumption without application can create the illusion of progress.
@Markmanson So true. Improving your life doesn't have to be sexy.
Struggle isn't automatically progress - Activity isn't productivity. Hard work can be meaningful, but unnecessary work is still unnecessary.
@Markmanson But there's so mamy of them 🤣🤣
@dickiebush Hell yeah!! Let's go!!
@stijnnoorman So true. We want confidence that we can complete the task before we start. The human condition.
@danmartell Sounds like me in my 20s
When problems come up, you need to solve them, manage them, or let them live with you for a season.
Agency exists in imperfect circumstances. You can't control everything, but you can do more than you think you can.
