I'll try and do more the more I learn. Right now for some reason my closed Home tab looks okay, then I open the fold, then I close it again and my Home tab goes all squashed like it was treated like a larger size class for a second and applied different styling. Styling I apply to larger size classes, styling it didn't get when the app launches to the home tab.

I use size classes and I'm still finding the Duo to be completely different animal than iPhone or iPad. Here you see 2 right bar button items laying out very oddly on the Duo.
@victorstuber I thought the custom work would be relatively low effort but I'm finding even I have to do quite a bit and my app was relatively well optimised already.
@HuoZha29881 I have to agree, the more I use it the more I find that layout very odd.

@yabhishekhd We all know the punch hole is what's now used for the under screen FaceID and y'all are clinging to this for controversy. There's no way Apple changes the Dynamic Island so their phone looks like an Android device and loses what makes it distinctly an iPhone.

I really wanted the Duo as well, but what triggers me is that when you have screens in which the layout is supposed to be centred, it often looks really lopsided. For example, the common onboarding-type layout or enable push notifications-type layout. Potentially, when you're holding it in your hand, you'll get used to it.
The bottom safe area bugs me. Look how high up my FAB is.
Here's a sheet respecting the safe areas with a custom height... yeah... not great.

Given the level of care Apple has taken with iOS 27 this year I feel like this won't ship like this, I feel like it will have a setting to make it do this but otherwise go full width.

I wish you could feel the haptics on this one, and making the little flame engine behind the 2d svg was fun.
Go for launch. And, of course, you can pilot the tiny spaceship by tapping where you want it to fly to.
@Hazza52 @nextgameres I think there's a chance that the Duo will support a top status bar with top buttons but they don't want to reveal that in the marketing lead up to launch as it won't look as good.
