If you’ve already lost crypto to a scam, you're already a target for the fake recovery email. This week a spoofed "Financial Department" email telling people they're owed 1.9 BTC landed in hundreds of inboxes, linking to a lookalike domain. We took down the domain, stopping the attack at the source.

Scammers are buying ads directly into official Telegram channels. They’ll embed malicious URLs inside harmless looking native ads, which will show up in a brand’s official TG channel. All they have to do is pay for the ad space to be there. Every one we find gets added to our blocklist of over 500K malicious links, distributed to major browsers and anti-viruses. 🚨 Attackers exploited a critical vulnerability in BTCPay Server to steal LND credentials and drain merchant Lightning wallets last week. BTCPay is now offering a bounty of up to 3 BTC (approximately 190,000 dollars) for information that helps recover the funds. The flaw allowed remote access to .macaroon credential files. Affected users include hardware-wallet maker Foundation and others. The project has patched the issue (update to 2.4.2 or later) and is working with analytics firms and law enforcement. Watch for follow-on phishing: fake “recovery support,” lookalike BTCPay domains, or social accounts claiming they can help retrieve lost Lightning funds. 🚨 Scammers are posing as EU regulators and licensed crypto exchanges to prey on customers of unlicensed firms after the MiCA deadline. Fraudsters impersonate AMF or ESMA staff (and misuse official logos and documents), telling users of non-compliant platforms they must urgently transfer assets to fake websites or wallets. With only 323 licensed firms versus more than 1,700 forced to wind down, the rush to move funds is exactly the opportunity criminals want. Never act on unsolicited transfer requests, even if they look official.
