Thought for the day... In modern times, humans who take part as a sample (e.g. of medical patients) in scientific studies have stopped being called "subjects", and are now "participants". Perhaps this terminology could also apply to laboratory rats that will be dissected?

The first time I ever heard the term "VSEPR theory", a professor pronounced it "v-sepr". So that's how I still think of it, years later. I'm currently watching videos in which other professors pronounce it "V-S-E-P-R". Or worse, "vespr". And it grates on my nerves each time 😬

@jabsNtriangles Before you were born, I was a homeschooled teenager with a GED. And zero parental support. Minimum wage factory, retail, delivery, taxicab, cleaning, and resthome jobs. It never entered my mind to expect anyone to feel sorry for me.
