Thank you for reporting this @MOLAEZI
If the website shows your building but the Postcode by NIPOST App does not, while your previous request was assigned to the building behind your house, the location data may require further review and update.
Since the new request is still pending, kindly allow the review process to be completed and avoid submitting multiple requests for the same location.
Please keep your request reference and other details available for verification, if required.
The mapping and verification process is ongoing, and reports like this help us identify and correct locations that may not yet be properly reflected on the app.
Good question @MosebiOluyomi
The multiple codes you see within the radius do not necessarily mean that the same building has multiple Digital Postcodes. They may represent different mapped buildings or locations within the area.
Use the satellite imagery and building markers on the app to identify the specific building you want. Once you select that building, the app will display its corresponding Digital Postcode.
Interesting question @seewhy9
A Digital Postcode should accurately identify a specific location but there are isolated cases that require update.
For this we enabled an option within the Postcode by NIPOST App to enable users suggest a correction using the "Edit" button if any of the building details are incorrect. Kindly make use of this feature.
We appreciate you taking the time to report this feedback like yours helps us improve the accuracy of the National Digital Postcode system.
@EbenezaryFX@Postcode_ng A code is unique to a building. To get yours:
1. Be in, or near, the building;
2. Ensure the GPS/full location service on your device is ON; then
3. Open the app, or visit postcode.gov.ng/find
4. The area is scanned.
5. Locate & click on your place on the scan to see its code.
Thank you @grace_manor
At the moment, you cannot type a Digital Postcode directly into Google Maps and get the location. However, the Postcode by NIPOST App has a third-party integration that allows you to navigate to the location through Google Maps.
We encourage you to explore the app and try the available features:
• Find a postcode
• Save the postcode
• Save it as your primary postcode
• Suggest an edit to your primary postcode
• Search for a postcode
• Navigate to the postcode within the app or through Google Maps
No worries @OnyemeHenry
We would like to avoid any wahala between you and your neighbour.

That’s an important question @IamPaschalEdum.
The Digital Postcode is designed to cover all parts of Nigeria, including rural, remote and hard-to-reach communities. Villages were not be left out simply because internet access is limited.
The internet is mainly required to access the app and other online services. The Digital Postcode itself is a location identifier.
Lol...villager @AdeniyiOdubade
The National Digital Postcode is designed to cover every part of Nigeria, including rural, remote and hard-to-reach communities. No location should is left out because it is outside a major city.
Also yes, you can find your postcode using an app called Postcode by NIPOST available on playstore for android phones or the postcode website - postcode.gov.ng/find
There's also the final option of visiting the post office in you community for assistance because there is always one close by.
Yes! @iHOSdgreat
The National Digital Postcode is built on location and geospatial data gathered through different mapping and verification processes, and keeping that information current is an ongoing exercise.
So if your house is still missing, please use the “Request Postcode” option in the Postcode by NIPOST App to flag it for review.
We appreciate you testing it out and, even more, pointing out where we can get better. That’s how we build a system that works for everyone.
@1988_hga@amainyebriggs Thank you @1988_hga
Lol...yes Sir! warning taken.
We will talk about the accuracy of the Digital Postcode again on your 4th wedding anniversary. Hopefully your girlfriend's would've had a new title.
That’s a very fair point @amainyebriggs.
And yes, mapping Nigeria at this scale, particularly in areas with informal settlements and limited formal records was a significant technical undertaking.
It may interest you to know that NIPOST, in partnership with relevant government agencies and technical partners, deployed a number of these mapping and data-capture approaches during delineation and validation phases of the Digital Postcode project.
Satellite and aerial imagery, geospatial data and field verification all have roles to play in building a reliable national location database.
That said, this is not a one stop exercise. Location data evolves, buildings change, new settlements emerge, and the system must continuously improve with them. And that's where the uniqueness of the National Digital Alphanumeric Postcode come in handy.
The work of validating, updating and expanding the National Digital Postcode system remains an ongoing process.
We genuinely appreciate you looking at the technology behind the postcode. Feedback like this helps keep the conversation focused on how we can make the system even better.
@Postcode_ng The system needs to do better, Nigeria need a satellite for something like this to work. satellite or aerial imagery is probably the most practical way to find and map buildings at scale, especially in areas with informal settlements and no formal records.
You don’t really have to remember all 11 digits. The first 4 digits pretty much identify your State and LGA, while the remaining 9 digits provide the specific location details.
In cases where the State and LGA are already prepopulated, you may only need the remaining 7 digits.
The aim is to provide precise location identification across Nigeria.
Everyone in Nigeria has a location. Now every location has a postcode.
Today, NIPOST launches the National Digital Postcode System, and I’m speaking to you from the heart of it: our new GIS lab, where every corner of Nigeria is being mapped and coded.
No more “turn left after the blue gate.” Your postcode connects you to deliveries, e-commerce, emergency services, banking and government services, wherever you are.
After a successful pilot in Abuja, it’s now live nationwide.

Proud to lead the team building infrastructure that puts every Nigerian on the map.
My deepest gratitude to President @officialasiwajubat for his vision and support under the Renewed Hope Agenda, and to the Hon. Minister @bosuntijani , whose leadership in building Nigeria’s digital economy made this possible.
Thank you to the NIPOST @nipostngn family, our partners, and every Nigerian who joined the exercise . This is national infrastructure built by Nigerians, for Nigerians.

These are the people who carried this when it was only an idea. Through the long nights, the setbacks, the doubts, and the meetings that went nowhere, they kept building. NIPOST is in the middle of reform, and reform is hard, quiet work. It doesn’t give you many days to stop and celebrate.
Today is one of those days.
To every member of the NIPOST & Postcode team: this is your victory. You didn’t only build a system. You gave every Nigerian home, business and community an address that can be found, served and counted. Thank you for believing when it was hardest to believe.
This is only the beginning. The NIPOST we are building is one Nigerians can be proud of, and days like this are proof that it is coming" ~ @tola_odeyemi

Hello @khezkk
The National Digital Postcode is built on location and geospatial data gathered through different mapping and verification processes, and keeping that information current is an ongoing exercise.
As more locations are captured, verified and updated, the system will continue to improve. So if your new structure is still missing, please use the “Request Postcode” option in the Postcode by NIPOST App to flag it for review.
We appreciate you testing it out and, even more, pointing out where we can get better. That’s how we build a system that works for everyone.
That’s a good question @jamesagada
Buildings can change over time but locations don't.
If a building is demolished, the existing Digital Postcode remains to any new structure built on the same site. The location will need to be reviewed based on the building use.
Once a new building is constructed, we have enabled an option within the Postcode by NIPOST App to enable users suggest a correction using the "Edit" button if any of the building details are incorrect.
Kindly make use of this feature.
We’re glad the system got your address and building accurately @Ahfo__
And you’re right! some newer structures may not yet be reflected in the current data. The National Digital Postcode is built on location and geospatial data gathered through different mapping and verification processes, and keeping that information current is an ongoing exercise.

Well done post @Postcode_ng got my address accurately and building. But guess you guys have not factored some new structures, wonder the data mapping used, but surely it should get better.
